I have been going to Celia's Restaurants since 1987. I LOVE Celia's. This one is just OK and does not measure up to the others. No peppers in the Carnitas Adobados, refused to make flour chips, waiter not overly excited to please. ALL other Celia's make flour chips upon request. No cole slaw and Celia's is famous for it as it is the best cole slaw ever. Not so at this Celia's. Years ago this site was an El Torito. I say bring back the El Torito. However the Margarita was excellent.

Just moved here and found my favorite fast place! The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. I had the chicken taco and nachos to go and they were yummy! So glad to have found this place and I expect to visit often! Best thing about the place is the food is organic! Yeah!

This taquerÃa could use a few more vegetarian dishes, or the capacity to vegeterianize some meals, like the fajitas, but what they lacked in options, they made up in flavor, texture, and burrito size. Friendly servers, an abundance of free calabacitas, zanahorias, and salsas, and family-atmosphere.

This is my âgo toâ for a quick Mexican lunch. Fast service, friendly people, good food. My personal favorite is the quesadilla with carnitas. One thing, they roll the quesadilla rather like a burrito. This is also a tortilla factory so you can expect them to be fresh.

Our stop at La Playa was a last-minute decision but a good one. It's a comfortable, casual restaurant with a full bar. You order and pay at the front and they deliver your food to your table. There is bar seating and plenty of tables. The complimentary chips and salsa was followed by our enchiladas and steak tacos. All the food we ordered was very good. The draft beer selection was good and the margarita was tasty. We would definitely visit La Playa again if we were in the area.

Decent Mexican food in an area that needs more places to eat. Counter service, some tables. Not much else.

After âupscaleâ Peruvian food two weekends in a row, this one feels like coming home at last. Sans gimmicks, just good old home cooking with surprisingly fresh ingredients. And prices to match the surfer vibe in this slice of the coast: a pleasant drive from The City and quick zip from Central San Mateo.Itâs a hole in the wall, and thatâs part of the charm. We came for take out, but seduced by the âWhy not join usâ by Maritza in front of the house. She sets a comp chips and mild salsa to whet the appetite. The chips donât cut the palate, thankfully, the salsa friendly.Have the Peruvian red, lusty companion for the fried yucca ($7.95) and Calamar Frito ($9.95). Try the Shrimp Salad ($8.95), grilled shrimp on a bed of crisp Romaine with side of lime-y dressing - mmmmm! If Peruvian is not your speed, go for the Mexican faves like Toro Loco Grill ($18.95), combo of prawns, chicken and beef resting on roasted veggies con guacamole, salsa and sour cream. M nearly cleaned his plate, but the serving was too generous!Corkage is $10, if you want to dip from your collection.Families mingle with lovers at this Peruvian brothersâ spot, clearly a localsâ delight.
