Although Nocona as a small town doesnât have an abundance of not-fast-food restaurants, the ones that are here are locally owned & usually good. Tres Ninos is my go-to for Tex Mex. Iâm a fan of their chicken fajitas accompanied by guacamole, cheese, rice, & beans. I prefer charro over refried beans at any Mexican restaurant I visit. Here both types are flavorful & nicely seasoned. Beef & cheese enchiladas are also good with several sauces to choose from. Chips are usually hot & fresh with homemade salsa which is excellent. Lunch menu includes tea & offers a nice array of choices. There is also a lunch special on the board each day. Love the fajitas and the lunch portion is just enough for a mid-day meal. Full portion gives me yummy take home leftovers the next day. Never tried the Friday night catfish dinner but nice to have an alternative entree on the menu. To be honest, I will never try it because I donât like catfish. Family members tell me itâs good catfish. Itâs not a big place so there might be a little wait at peak times, typically on Friday nights. I appreciate their consistently good quality. The staff have always been friendly & attentive. A full glass of water, tea, or soda is a good sign.Nothing fancy but oh so good Tex Mex which for this Texan is a must have staple.
I was comparing DQ taco Salad to Del Rio Taco salad. Del Rio is hands down better. Cost comparison is about the same. Lots of ingredients. Tasted super fresh! Several dressings to choose from. Salsa could have been better but taco salad is amazing!
Nocona Food Guide: 9 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Nocona
Recommended by locals and Mi Familia did not disappoint. Very good Mexican food. Most patrons spoke spanish while we dined, so we knew it was authentic. Excellent lunch, very reasonable price. Note it is all cash restaurant when you arrive. Dining area is a bit crowded, it is not that large, but manageable. Parking in front or on the street. Enjoy!
