This is the worst Mexican restaurant Iâve ever wasted money on. Let me say that our server was fantastic. The chips were fantastic light and not greasy, the white sauce was okay, the salsa was NOT salsa. It was HORRIBLE. Who puts a ton of canned tomato paste in salsa and claims that is Okie version of Mexican. Iâm born and bread in Oklahoma and that sucked!!!I got a chili rellino and it was about an inch an a half in size. Seriously. The chili was ground real fine with more grease than meat and zero flavor. The only Mexican food Iâve ever had to put salt on. The Mexican food I ate in the school cafeteria on the sixties was the same texture, but the difference was, it tasted good. This place is horrible and I think Gordon Ramsey would upchuck, walk out and lose half a million dollars turning his place around. Please, fix this place before you kill someone. And please donât give the excuse this is what we Okies like in Mexican. Donât insult us like that. Now, pardon me while I go throw up again just thinking about this horrible experience.

I have given this restaurant every opportunity to be awesome. The food is good, the drinks are good, the atmosphere and location are good....so what's up? The service is never good. No matter what size of a group you are in or what time of day it is, the service is just Sloooooooooowwwww and the food is often cold when it arrives at your table.Ebazinam; I want to apologize for your experiences at the Muskogee El Chico. We are addressing these service issues and I assure you that on your next visit you will see the improvements. Please ask for a manager on your return visit, so you can tell us how we are doing.Sincerely;Mark MelhouseGeneral ManagerEl Chico #62204 W. First off, I would like to invite the people of Muskogee to eat at a decent Mexican restaurant in the greater Tulsa area. I am surprised that this place is rated the highest or all Mexican restaurants in Muskogee. If the service would not have been good, this place would have rated a "poor".We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday evening - located at Arrowhead Mall. You have to look for a small sign that says "Mexican Grill" and is located near one of the entrances to the mall. My wife had fajitas and I had a combination dinner of two enchiladas and a taco. My enchiladas were very small and bland. I had to drain the amber-colored oil out of the taco before taking the first bite. Folks, Taco Bueno or Taco Bell taste better than the food I had here. That is sad.I tried my wife's beef fajita meat and it was greasy and bland. If the food would have been good, the prices would have been fine. I will not eat here again. This wasn't just an off-night - it was plain bad.
We recently gained a new favorite restaurant in Muskogee after giving La Antigua a chance. It is located on Eastside Boulevard which is a little off the beaten path if you are passing through, but worth the detour. They have nightly specials and a great margarita. The carnitas are the best locally in my opinion. The service is outstanding and the owner wants to guarantee you are pleased with your visit. He is usually as visible as the rest of the wait staff. The prices are average for the area and as mentioned, there are nightly specials which are a good deal. The restaurant has a Facebook page where you can see what they offer.

I used to eat here frequently and liked the food. I took my grandson for lunch and the appearance of the restaurant shocked me. Not only was it dirty, the smell was so foul that we left before ordering. What a huge disappointment!

On the outside the place is very sketchy, but actually one of my favorites. You place your order at the register and a nice, Mexican grandmother cooks for you.My favorite? Ordering a Tecate and by ordering I mean, grabbing it from the cooler like a convenience store and taking it to a booth. They also prepare materials for homemade dinners. Too much charm here to go unnoticed.
