Came here for lunch. This places sells mainly tortas but with a large selection of them. At 11am, this place was already busy. By the time I left 30 minutes later the line was 10 deep. Lunch time seems to be fairly busy. I tried both the carne asada and the chef daily special (chicken). Both sandwiches were light with good flavor. The bread itself is very good. At 11.99 each, which included a small side, these sandwiches are not cheap but worth it.

I ordered from the menu because the buffet wasn't being served. I decided on the Combo 1. The taco came with steak, which I wasn't aware of, I thought we had choices, and the black beans were just so so and the enchilada was just okay. Therefore, I was really disappointed. However, Jose, our waiter, and the rest of the staff were great!Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review! We hope you join us again soon as we have been making strides in the service department to better serve our guests. Your feedback is very important to us and we greatly appreciate it!Thank you,Eddie ArmenteroGeneral Manager

We actually picked up our order for a office function. I was greeted with a complimentary plate with pastries. The food was delicious they labeled all of our items. We had no complaints. My sister Yoli and Jeremy and Peter Romo and the Ela Sheriff's dept. also recommended this place. If you have been there stop by and give them a try.

Pepe's Mexican Food

Reviewed By Tony V

In a city where Asian food is everywhere along with all the usual American franchises, Pepe's is an oasis! All the usual Mexican-American dishes are on the menu and they are all good. One ultra important factor is Pepe's guacamole. It's real guacamole, probably better than what your mother or grandmother made. This guacamole is thick, too thick to be dispensed out of a plastic squeeze bottle. That watery stuff is really avocado sauce; you won't find it here. The usual selection of burritos is here plus some surprises. And while you're here, eating in the small patio, or going through the drive through which can be backed up onto the street and around the corner, be sure to wash it down with an Orange Bang, a Lemon Olè or one of the other soft drinks that seem to be available only in neighborhood eateries on L.A.'s east side. Whatever it takes to have a meal here, it's more than worth the wait!
