Montebello (Spanish for beautiful mountain) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located in the southwestern area of the San Gabriel Valley on 8.4 sq mi (22 km) 8 mi (13 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. It is considered part of the Gateway Cities, and is a member of the Gateway Cities Council of Governments. In the early 20th century, Montebello was a well-known source for oil reserves. At the 2010 census, the population was 62,500. The estimated population as of July 1, 2013 was 63,495.

I was expecting to find older ladies working inside but they are young and friendly. I ordered the Huevos a la Mexicana my favorite breakfast dish with flour tortillas and they give you plenty of tortillas. The food was very good and plenty of it which kept me full all day. I love all the Mexican artwork they have inside where you sit down to eat.

Went to try some tortas ahogadas at a restaurant called âChagoâ. They are supposed to be some of the best tortas around but they fall way short on everything. The prices are way too high for the crappy food you get there. The tortas have way more fat on them, than they do pork meat. They lack authentic torta taste and the service in horrible and very slow. If you donât want to spend a lot of money for crappy food then donât eat here.

LOVE this little spot. All food is excellent and cheap!! There is a nice little sitting area, but you can also order at the counter. Yummy guacamole and truly authentic salsas...definitely stop here for some delicious food!

My taquitos dorados and flan were super tasty, but the place was so loud on a Saturday night that I asked to have my selections boxed up to go. (Granted, I was tired from work that day and not in much of a party mood... I guess people were just having fun.)

We found Tamayo on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. Upon arriving to the restaurant, they had valet parking, but there was no charge for it, as they only do it for tips. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be impressed by the décor and feel of the restaurant. We were seated immediately and greeted promptly by our server. We weren't drinking this night, but had a great appetizer and dinner. All in my family enjoyed their selection, it was great authentic Mexican cuisine. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area to visit this fine establishment!!!

Ever since I was a young girl, my family has been coming to this restaurant for their menudo and other excellent dishes. I remember having to wait for a table when they were in a little "hole in the wall" on Beverly Blvd because it was such a popular place. Then they expanded, and have since moved to a much bigger establishment to accommodate the numbers of people who want to take advantage of their great authentic Mexican food. Although the service needs improvement, the food is still superb and worth it! While my family enjoys the Menudo, I order and enjoy Chicken Albondigas. A very rare find, and delicious! They are open late and they do have a bar and specialty drinks. Parking is in the back as well as an entrance. Conveniently located next to the 60 freeway too!

Happy hour is everyday and the chips and salsa are good too! They have a huge menu and the food comes piping hot to the table. Everything taste homemade and the portions are generous. Enchiladas, child relleno, tacos.....all are my favorites. They have lunch buffet on most days I believe.

We had dinner here on a Friday. The place was cozy and tastefully decorated. The ceviche was excellent and the main course was delicious. All sorts of Mexican cocktails and drinks but our host brought a bottle of rioja which went well with the mole and our meat dishes. Great and friendly staff. Highly Recommended.
