Mexican food is home made bliss, breakfast buffet is served daily, the menu is well balanced and delicious, they have steak, poultry and seafood dishes, also traditional mexican dishes are served both a la carte as well on the buffet, prices are accesible and the service staff are always friendly.

They have the best tacos de machaca in Mexicali. Not to mention flautas, lengua en mole, tacos dorados, etc. etc. And they serve the food quickly and for a great price.

This restaurant was right next door to our hotel and had good reviews, so decided to give it a try for dinner. Ended up coming back the next day for lunch. Servers are friendly. Most seemed to speak English. The grilled octopus is unbelievable. It is more than enough for two. The tuna âcarnitasâ were also really good - also a shareable plate

If you like to taste the best steaks in town you have to try Palominos. They have the BEST Sonora meat. Try the Combinación Palominos with carne oreada, delicious quesadillas de harina, Tripitas, and papada de cerdo (like pork belly). We had a 1lb rib eye and it was superb!!! The meat was tender and full of flavor. The beers heâs were great also. We asked for a Clericot which is a refresher red wine, lime juice and diced fruit. My kids had carne asada tacos and They were yummie!For being a special day they had kids activities like arts and crafts. The little ones had a blast!The servers were great and helpful. The ambiance was fine with live and easy listening music. Price was ok.

How does one describe Laguna Azul? Beginning as a simple fish taco cart, it now covers at least a half block of rambling seating areas. You only need to dine at Laguna Azul one time to understand the essence of this restaurant's success.On-street and off-street parking is adequate to handle the masses even for holiday diners.The exterior of the restaurant matches the run-down ambiance of the neighboring businesses. What's behind doors one, two, and three (maybe doors four and five as well) will leave you guessing when you reach the front of the restaurant. Are all of the many entrances for the famous Laguna Azul or are some for neighborhood competitors. I observed many diners trying to determine which entrance to take as did my wife and I. Don't worry, all roads lead to Rome as it was once said.Once inside the restaurant, if a waiter does not come to your rescue, you are still at a loss. Which room do you enter for dining? Look a bit more closely however and you will note that every room is full of diners eating seafood with great gusto. In my wife and my case, a young male waiter immediately came to our rescue, seating us with great speed, and had menus in our hands within moments; English for me and Spanish for my wife.The menu is an extensive listing of seafood selections, making it difficult to choose an entrée, and after selecting your entrée, selecting the portion size. That was true for my wife and I until our eyes settled on Shrimp Selection for Two. Following a small appetizer of octopus ceviche and glasses of fresh lemonade made with sparkling mineral water, our shrimp selection arrived on a tray the size of an extra-large pizza pan. Where does one begin? Delicious looking rice, a tossed salad, fresh French-style bread or any one of nine tempting shrimp preparations. Since everything is better with bacon, we went for the bacon-wrapped large shrimp which numbered about eight. The breaded-fried shrimp were equally delicious; all six of them. From there, we dined on excellent shrimp in garlic sauce, shrimp in a light barbecue sauce plus five other equally delicious preparations. This dinner for two would comfortably feed four people, as proven by the large container we took home with us.Even though the restaurant was packed with Valentine's Day diners, service was prompt and courteous with a willingness to answer our every question.What other entrees would we recommend? All of them, plus a dozen beautiful shrimp cocktails coming in at least three sizes.This is not a restaurant where one dresses to the nines and goes out for an elegant dinner. The lady would break off her high heals before she even made it to the entrance. This is a restaurant where locals from all walks of life come to relax and dine on superior seafood.Now, for the how much is it going to set me back? Our huge dinner of shrimp prepared nine ways, along with its side dishes, came out to a whopping $20.00. No, that wasn't for each of us; $20.00 for two Valentine's Day love birds. The incredible delicious fresh lemonade set me back another $4.00.Laguna Azul is the type of Mexican restaurant that everyone should experience at least once. If you are looking to experience Mexican dining and you have only one meal to do it, this restaurant is perfect.

I enjoyed this nice hidden restaurant. It offers some good steaks, Mexican food, and some sea food. My favorite still continues to be the "pulpo a las brasas" as an appetizer, which is like grilled octopus. I usually end up ordering this dish with some wine. This place offers a great variety of wines especially the great wines of the region of Baja California. Muchas gracias por su visita. Estamos a sus ordenes.

This restaurant is the right mix between Peruvian and Mexican style seafood. The mixed tacos are superb and the tiraditos and Aguachiles are great as well. Acclaimed Acatlan does not disappoint. With all the boom and hustle of Mexicali lies this taco shop of gold. Always busy, but most importantly always good with top notch service. Try every meat. Prices are good, the US dollar holds strong. Please keep in mind itâs a place of business that has a line out of the door at times. So as long as you have something at your table you wonât be rushed out the door. If you donât expect to be pushed out because there are ppl waiting and they gotta make their money!

I've lives in Mexicali for 14 years and i found out about this place like 2 years ago, since then we have visited several times!!!! Menudo is the especiality but you OUGHT TO try corn tamales and quesadillas!!! made with cheese from Sonora/Chihuahua. PLUS you can visit a mini Old-West town :)

This is not a cheap taco corner place, this is a culinary experience.
