Mexican cuisine is our favorite. Authentic Mexican food - not fast food or Tex-Mex. Los Compadres has become one of our favorite stops for genuine Mexican cooking. We work nearby, and although my fiancé lived in the neighborhood for many years, we never tried Los Compadres until recently; despite the fact that her (adult) children have eaten here many times and rave about it. We have eaten here 8 times in the past 4 months, and now we rave about it too.We started off slowly and with each visit graduated up through the menu: tacos, burritos, chimichangas, enchiladas, carne asada. All delicious! Then I tried their top item, Bistec Ranchero: grilled steak smothered in onions, peppers, hot sauce, a fried egg, and sliced fried potatoes; and served with tortillas, rice, refried beans and a side salad. Absolutely one of the most delicious authentic Mexican dishes I have ever eaten, and a new favorite of mine. I have ordered it every visit since trying it. In between visits I crave it. My fiancé likes their gorditas the best.Jarrito's genuine Mexican soda and other non-alcoholic drinks available. The father and son who own and operate Los Compadres are warm, welcoming and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Dine in or take out available. Credit cards accepted. WARNING: the homemade salsa is VERY spicy. We'll be back for more!
I have been with groups to this restaurant several times with friends. It is a little problematic when you have 5 or more but can be worked around for seating. The staff is helpful and never critical or hard to work with. They all seem to like their job and/or the workplace. If you download their rewards program APP you can get a free meal. They encourage this and never question cashing in a reward. The food is very good. They put lots of ingredients into each Joey. When they first make it, it looks like it won't close because it is so big. There are lots of items to include in your meal so expect to take a few moments to make good choices. The chips are very good here and they will give you more if you ask, including seconds. They have a 3-5 salsas to dip your chips, all are real good.Although people clean up after themselves at their tables, the place stays fairly clean. My friends really like us to go there, it is a good experience.

Besito Mexican, translated as little kiss, strives to delight guests with the warmth of a private hacienda offering thoughtful details and cuisine. Besito was rated âexcellentâ by the New York Times with decor that embraces all the flavors and festivity o
Weâve been waiting for an opportunity to go to Besito. There is one more local, in West Islip, but it is smaller than the one in Huntington. It was worth the drive! We made a reservation, which is recommended. The drive took a little longer than anticipated, so I called, and they happily extended our reservation. We were seated right away. Fresh guacamole was made table-side. Entrees were beyond delicious!! My son is a fan of burritos, and coming here, they say itâs an interpretation of Mexican food. There were no burritos on the menu. He had to think outside the box. Very happy with the beef short ribs! A side of Mexican Street Corn and rice, and he was very happy!! I had the Mahi mahi with crab and blue corn chip crust. Delicious!! We ended with Tres Leches Cake with fresh whipped cream and berries. Delicious!!Que bueno! Thank you for the positive feedback, Tamis! Hope to have you back again soon! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience at Besito. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
