Discover Restaurants offering the best Mexican food in Managua, Managua Department, Nicaragua. Six thousand years ago, human footprints were left in the volcanic mud along the shores of Lake Managua. Preserved over centuries, these footprints can be seen at The Museum of Acahualinca in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. In addition to the footprints and impressive collections of pre-Colombian artifacts in the city's museums, Managua has much more to offer. The Tiscapa Lagoon Natural Reserve is a watery retreat within the city, with bars, shops, ziplines, and a canopy ride with views of downtown.

park the truck, The rancho is vibrating with action. Huge mounds of different cookies on either side, a vendor musically selling cds, and at the back you see the outlines of three ladies feverishly preparing the famous quesillos, a tortilla with fresh local cheese in a creamy onion dressing poured into the tortilla, served with fresco de cacao. The owner or a relative hawk eyed sits beside them and he or she takes your money. You cannot say its expensive. There are some tables or they pack them to go. For the very timid you can have a coke!!If you travel between Managua and Leon, you should stop and enjoy this experience.

Been passing by this quaint little restaurant for years and finally decided to satisfy my curiosity and want of Mexican food. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I ordered the "chilaquiles mixto" after perusing the many offerings that this place has to offer. The food was very good! My friends ordered the tacos which were also very good! I ordered a burrito to go, for later in the evening, so the verdict is still out on that. As the location is on a very busy street, the parking inside is welcome. I will return as the the food is very good and reasonably priced!

Let's begin by saying that i TOTALLY agree with others that have said this is NOT mexican food. Not even close. I ordered delivery through CLickeat--a food delivery service here in Managua similar to GrubHub or UberEats. Ordered two entrees--enchiladas suizas and the XXL Burrito. Only half my order was sent, the enchiladas. they were comprised of dry, commercially made corn tortillas, wrapped around--get this--shredded, BREADED CHICKEN!!! yeah. the tortillas were topped with a slice of quesillo cheese (nicaraguan cheese) and there was a cup of some insipid red sauce on the side, as well as what i guess they think is guacamole, since it sorta looked like it, but sure didn't taste like it. then there was the grated nicaraguan dry cheese they dumped on top of the guac. really? cheese on guacamole?i also ordered a side of rice. not sure what it was that i got, but it was reddish, had no flavor and was dried out.i can only imagine how bad the burrito would've been.
