This is our go to place for lunch. Excellent Mexican food. The owners get to know you and will ask if you want your "usual." Don't let the location fool you. The food is the best.
If there is a place for a good taco this is it. If it's lunch time in Madera and you want some good Mexican food, stop by. Its quick and the price is good.
My family and I go sundays for great bowls of menudo. Couldnt beat it. Hits the spot we enjoy it. They have dine in and out so if your in a hurry and want to enjoy it at home even better. They also serve homemade tortillas. Mmmm I love those

We flew in from Florida and are staying in town for the evening, heading to Yosemite in the morning. We stumbled upon this restaurant and were so impressed by the authentic flavors and friendly staff! If you are looking for no frills, real and authentic Mexican Food, this is your place. Iâll be back for sure! We were served the freshest tortillas, ice cold beer, and shrimp and steak with Cactus!!
This is a hole in the wall place with great food that is made fresh to order (even the chips) so don't be in a big rush if they are busy! Salsa is spicy so suck it up. I had taco's and they were pretty fresh. There is no frills here so don't expect much and lower your expectations but you will live the food!
My two passion in life come together in our restaurant. The love of food and people. People always ask why I would open a Mexican restaurant in Madera which has one on every corner. The answer is easy, I wanted to go to the next lever in Latin cuisine, we
We enjoyed breakfast tacos filled with eggs bacon fresh green onion and cheese followed ice cold beer very yummy. Great chips and salsa
Driving to Fremont from Yosemite, we got hungry & came here due to its great ratings. One of their family member owners is vegan & assured us by phone of plenty of good vegetarian options & we were not disappointed. The enchiladas were clearly made with house made corn tortillas, with the best green sauce we ever had - also homemade. They sprinkled cilantro & onions on top to give a great taste. The cheese was clearly Mexican & not grocery store processed mozzarella. I love enchiladas & these were the best I ever had. We had never had tortas but these were great, with added japapenos. The bread is made in store & for the tortas, was grilled. We had also never had sope but that was also good - we added avocado. The horchita was also one of the best that I had. They really work well with vegetarians & vegans. There were staff fluent in English. It was clean. The prices were very low. The service was quick & outstanding.

Love this family owned business. Their Mexican food is always dependable good. We have been eating here for 34 years ... since we moved to Madera. Their location has been in 3 locations since we started following them. We would follow wherever they would move if we had too. Their food is always good and authentic.

Scheduled a business lunch here and I was very pleased with the service, cleanliness, and quality of food. I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner. The food is not as spicy as most excellent Mexican food restaurants but their beens and rice were very good, which is a good preliminary gauge of quality of Mexican food.

We are a family owned restaurant offering diners warm hospitality and mouth-watering cuisine that will be remembered! Additional services include take out, off-site buffet catering, party trays, and casseroles - even handmade Tamales! Our Madera location
I first discovered Sal's restaurant at the original location in Selma (even before they built their current location, it was actually an old house!). After just one meal there, it was the best Mexican food I had ever had!!! I was so happy when Madera got a Sal's years ago, and happy to say the taste of the food reminded me of the original restaurant. Everything on the menu is great! But my favorite is the Fancy Burrito, I have never had a better burrito. We often order take home and it is always ready on time.
