When we think Chevys Fresh Mex, we go to our happy place; fun-lovinâ guests, fajitas & margaritas, and the freshest food, always from scratch. Founded in 1986 in Alameda, California, Chevys is an ultra-casual restaurant concept that offers guests an array
Tamales are not as they used to be. Drenched in very tart green sauce. Chips and salsa are still THE BEST at Chevys Service was fast and friendly. Nice mall location. AC

Thought we'd give this place a try for a carry out office lunch. The salad was pretty small and the nachos really bad. The prices were a bit high for what we got as well. Very disappointed - thought maybe we could try this for Happy Hour, but won't be returning.

Every day at 8 a.m., we start chopping veggies, soaking beans, and prepping our mesquite-fired grill. Not because we have to, but because we believe in delicious flavors made-to-order, from hand-rolled enchiladas to our sizzling fajitas to guacamole made
We had dinner here with another couple on Sunday. Our friends got the Sunday special, which was fajitas with a soup or salad and dessert. It turned out to be a very good deal. They both loved the fajitas. The only thing they didnât really like was the tortilla soup, which our friend complained had rice. They split the desserts with us. I didnât try the small ice cream scoop with chocolate sauce. But I had half a sopapilla. It was good, but it was also served with chocolate sauce. It would have been better with the traditional honey. My husband and I each had a classic burrito which was good but needed more sauce. (We put some of the salsa on top of it.) We also split an order of brisket tacos. They were a little weird, since they had onion rings as the filling topping, which didnât seem very Mexican to me. They were also pretty bland without the barbecue-type sauce that came with them. All main dishes came with rice and black beans which were good. The iced tea was very good, although they had run out by 6:30 in the evening and had to brew more for us. The service was friendly. Also, they served salsa and pretty good chips at the beginning of the meal. Since we ate them up, they brought more of both. Our friends soup and salad did come out with the main dishes but perhaps that was because we were only getting main dishes.

This is an older location, but clean and well lit. The food is dependable. The selection is extensive. The meat has a nice flavor and not very spicy. Certainly there is four types of hot sauce to light you up. Service is speedy. The drive through is open really late. The prices beat any other type of chain fast food.

A group of us stopped here for dinner tonight after leaving the office. Each one of us had something good and pretty much everyone had something different and everyone enjoyed their plates. Had a bit of problem with the language barrier although we were able to work through it. Slight problem with the order though they fixed the issue very quickly. Food was average and service was very good. Not a bad stop, I would certainly come back here in the future.
