Jasper is situated in the Deep East Texas subregion, about 130 miles (210 km) northeast of Houston. Jasper (the "Butterfly Capital of Texas") holds an annual Butterfly Festival the first Saturday in October to celebrate the migration of the monarch butterflies.

Tia Juanita's is one of my go to lunch spots. My favorite is the shrimp quesidallas, but everything I have ever had there is good. The wait staff is efficient and friendly. Ask for Bryan, he'll make your meal more enjoyable.

The plate was, in fact, hot. The food, on the other hand, wasnât.Cute restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Excellent wait staff. Disappointing kitchen.The food wasnât even lukewarm. Largely flavorless beans and rice. Bland Enchiladas, soggy tortillas.The chips and salsa were above average though.I think weâll look for a different Mexican alternative in Jasper. These guys donât really get it.

Visited in February 2017 at suppertime, was told that they were short on employees and we would have to wait 40 minutes but nobody else was waiting. Hostess had an attitude, guess she was stressed. Went back two days later at lunch, not many people were there and it took a surprisingly long time to get to us, probably need a change in management or retrain. Food was so-so.

The breakfast burritos/tacos are very very good. I know because I am a breakfast burrito connoisseur. I have roamed far and wide looking for the perfect specimen and this comes pretty dang close.

One of only two places to get hunts brothers pizza in jasper that I know of. Great value. Great pizza. Friendly staff. Convenient location.
