It is a small place with limited indoor seating but a big drive-thru business. Prices were reasonable and the place was packed (a good sign). I really wanted to like the food but I found it bland, especially for "authentic" Mexican. My beef tacos and cheese quesadilla were average at best. The beef just did not have any flavor. Other people seemed to enjoy the food - I wouldn't go back.
The host makes sure you are greeted with a welcoming smile. The owner/manager/chef is very friendly, the service is quick and polite and there are daily lunch specials, BUT the food will make you come back!!! By far the best Haitian food that I have had ever and my brother in law is Haitian. Conveniently located on U.S. 1 in Naranja section on Homestead. Simply authentic and delicious!!

Don't expect anything fancy (although there are pretty hanging Mexican star lights) because the atmosphere qualifies this place as a dive. However, the food is very good and reasonably priced. They start you off with a complimentary basket of tortilla chips with a fresh tomato and cilantro dip. I had the shrimp in salsa de mariscos which was more fishy than crustacean-y but it was still tasty. The flan is okay but it's pre-packaged and not homemade so I'd opt for the fried ice cream which is huge and easily shared.

The food here is authentic and fill your belly full of deliciousness. I had the mole chicken enchiladas for lunch. The meat was shredded perfectly and tender. The sauce was very good, but not as chocolatey as I am accustomed to. They served two kinds of salsa and chips before your meal is brought out. You will not leave hungry! The décor was authentic with art, ponchos and hats on the walls. To me it seemed like a this is a family run restaurant and let me tell you, they are very sweet.I enjoyed my meal so much that I went back after my errands and grabbed dinner to-go. I got the, straight up, chicken mole. Of course it came with rice and beans. I gave 4 stars because the chicken could have been much more tender. I expected more given my lunch. But all in all, I will be going back again when I roll through Homestead.

We had good quality traditional Mexican food (chicken mole and chiles rellenos) - each dish was $13. Beers $4. Food includes rice, beans, salad and 3 tortillas. Actually too much food but we almost managed to eat it all! Friendly helpful staff. Quick service in an unpretentious atmosphere,

La Cruzada, located in a quaint little part of Homestead, FL, serves authentic, fresh-made Mexican foods. The ambiance (Indoors or patio Outdoors) is very casual, and there's plenty of free parking (adjacent parking lot, or plenty of street spots). A visit to La Cruzada is like a pleasant visit to another country i.e. Mexico. The service is pleasant, and on a recent Saturday night La Cruzada was crowded w/ local families. The food is simple, and the prices inexpensive. We tried:house margaritas - tart, simple, goodModelo beer - paired-well w/ spicy Mexican foodGuacamole & chips - MUST TRY!! Fresh-made -- this was the best single food item that we triedFajitas - fresh, tasty, and served on a hot skillet (chicken, beef, shrimp, or a mixture)Steak Burrito (Carne Asada) very tasty; a hearty meal in itselfCheese enchiladas - good (not great)Taco (marinated gyro pork) - fairSide dishes of rice, beans, lettuce - fairAll-in-all, La Cruzada is worth-a-visit to sample authentic Mexican foods (guacamole, chips, tacos, fajitas, burritos, lots of vegetarian choices, beers, margaritas, etc) in a setting with an authentic Mexican vibe. Whether visiting the Everglades, on-the-way to The Florida Keys, or looking for an excursion away from Miami, you'll enjoy La Cruzada.

First time here, my daughter took me as she has dined here before. Great menu choices. Delicious green hot sauce, i had a steak burrito dinner, wife had chimichanga daughter had shrimp tacos. All were delicious. Had jalapeno bullets for appetizer! So good! Service was excellent, 3 servers tended us and these guys were awesome. They run a fine establishment and i plan to visit again when in town. I urge you to try this place. Well done!
