This Taco Bell is horrible. I know it is not exactly fine dining, but compared to other Taco Bells, this one is horrid. The portions are skimped, they charged us for all our food, then failed to give it to us, then they argued over the mistake when it was pointed out. The place was dirty, the staff were rude. Just can't say enough bad things. We will never return.
I had the Chicken Mole, which I get at every Mexican Restaurant. It was delicious and the chicken was obviously fresh and not canned. Homemade Mole sauce was great and chips and salsa was made right there.
Tough one to write. How do you describe a dinner that in your mind was one of the best you've had in no specific time frame? This was it. This wasn't a hole in the wall, but more of a hole-in-the-hole in the wall. I've never been to Hermiston, OR in my life, and we had a bunch of Hispanic choices all around. But when I loaded this place on the Spoon, and called to make sure they actually existed, I figured why not? Their corn tortillas were almost indescribable, other than they were house made and a family recipe. I've had plenty of fresh made tortillas, but these seemed a combo of flour & corn masa, yet still had great corn flavor that will make me try to duplicate them at home. I need not speak of any other menu item other than you must know that we had a very quiet family dinner--mostly making guttural sounds--save for the occasional 'Oh!,' or, 'You gotta try this...' Hard working family taking care of the business. I talked at length with the Dad/Chef, and told him he must keep the divey, original location, regardless of undoubted future restaurant success...

If you have a favorite taco truck back home, this might be the place for you. If gilded sombreros and giant margaritas are what you seek, then no. If you like homemade chips and refried beans, if you hunger for caramelized and flavorful meats served with a selection of spicy blended salsas, then do yourself a favor and give this a try. Also, the cheek meat taco, eat it.

I had an enjoyable dinner at La Palma, and will definitely return. Started off with a frozen strawberry margarita with sugar rim, which was perfectly mixed and very tasty. Had the Guacamole Fresco, which they prepare tableside from fresh avocado, and it was outstanding. The main course were Enchiladas, with beef, chicken, and cheese fillings. Huge portions left no room for dessert...maybe next time. Nice decor, friendly servers provided prompt service. Excellent Mexican style food in Hermiston.
