We have been longtime customers at Burrito Shak since it first opened (not sure why it took me so long to review it.) Don't just drive on by while you're toodling down Rt. 17 to or from the beach or Wilmington. Stop in to eat! Over the years, the freshness and high quality of the food have not declined a single bit, and you get great value for your money here. Burrito Shak has a very narrow menu, but everything is delicious and well prepared. I almost always get the same thing -- burrito bowl made with ground beef and black beans, plus lots of extra toppings -- but if you haven't tried some of their custom toppings, do so next time you go. Their salsas and pico de gallo are excellent. Try adding corn salsa to your burrito, bowl or salad, or a little squeeze of chipotle ranch! Eating low-carb? They'll make your bowl on a bed of fresh lettuce (yay). My SIL tried the ghost pepper kick, and it's not for the faint of heart, lol, so Google ghost pepper before you order! Service is always quick and friendly. It can get very crowded at dinner time, but the line always seems to move quickly. We go early for dinner so we can avoid the rush, and the three of us eat well for about $30 total.

Seriously this is one of the good ones with hot and fresh food that comes quickly. drive through is easy and comes with a friendly face and no hassle. Inside is always clean and its not far from being new. Lots of large windows and in the Lowes grocery store unit with easy driving and options if you want to eat and then shop.

We love North Carolina but sometimes when visiting we practically starve. As vegetarians it's hard to find a hot meal that isn't French fries :/ But it's nice to have Mexican and Thai restaurants to rely on. Last night I had the burrito supreme and substituted the chicken for black beans! Super good. Friendly service. Thanks!
