First off, I would like to invite the people of Muskogee to eat at a decent Mexican restaurant in the greater Tulsa area. I am surprised that this place is rated the highest or all Mexican restaurants in Muskogee. If the service would not have been good, this place would have rated a "poor".We stopped here for dinner on a Saturday evening - located at Arrowhead Mall. You have to look for a small sign that says "Mexican Grill" and is located near one of the entrances to the mall. My wife had fajitas and I had a combination dinner of two enchiladas and a taco. My enchiladas were very small and bland. I had to drain the amber-colored oil out of the taco before taking the first bite. Folks, Taco Bueno or Taco Bell taste better than the food I had here. That is sad.I tried my wife's beef fajita meat and it was greasy and bland. If the food would have been good, the prices would have been fine. I will not eat here again. This wasn't just an off-night - it was plain bad.
On the outside the place is very sketchy, but actually one of my favorites. You place your order at the register and a nice, Mexican grandmother cooks for you.My favorite? Ordering a Tecate and by ordering I mean, grabbing it from the cooler like a convenience store and taking it to a booth. They also prepare materials for homemade dinners. Too much charm here to go unnoticed.

I have given this restaurant every opportunity to be awesome. The food is good, the drinks are good, the atmosphere and location are good....so what's up? The service is never good. No matter what size of a group you are in or what time of day it is, the service is just Sloooooooooowwwww and the food is often cold when it arrives at your table.Ebazinam; I want to apologize for your experiences at the Muskogee El Chico. We are addressing these service issues and I assure you that on your next visit you will see the improvements. Please ask for a manager on your return visit, so you can tell us how we are doing.Sincerely;Mark MelhouseGeneral ManagerEl Chico #62204 W. I used to eat here frequently and liked the food. I took my grandson for lunch and the appearance of the restaurant shocked me. Not only was it dirty, the smell was so foul that we left before ordering. What a huge disappointment!

We have eaten here several times because of the location and have found the food quality and service, as well as happy hour rules to be inconsistent. Happy hour is now restricted to only one person per order. So no sharing. And tonight they don't have the buffet. But the worst offense is the poor math skills of the servers. I've learned to check the ticket total after being overcharged twice. No mas!!!!! We will be dining elsewhere.
