I wanted to like this place. Adorable front outdoor seating and very sweet staff. The food was tasteless. Not only was it unspicy, but it had nothing to it-- steak, shrimp, chicken, beans...blah flavor. Very large portions of food and drink but not particularly cheap.

Taco John's is a better than average Mexican place. I've been told it has better than average quality food. All I know from experience is that it has somewhat better than average taste, and that it is more 'hand-built" than chain shops food, and the last I knew, they made their own lemonade. It's right on Hy 34 (the main drag through town) so if you don't have time to eat at a sit down dining place (highly recommended in Fairfield) then by all means, check out Taco Johns. I gave it four stars not because it ranks above other places in town, but because it ranks above other taco joints.
