Well, the crowds have really died down now so I ventured in. This eatery is fairly new to Crestview and as usual most of the town decided to check it out in the first 3 months. I opted to wait. Note: This restaurant is located at a very busy intersection in Crestview and if you are there during traffic peak you may experience frustrations when trying to drive out. So, I visited on a Friday evening, the eve of the Labor Day weekend. I figured it would be packed, but to my astonishment it was only myself, my daughter, and one customer that came in behind me. Even though I planned to go "take out", I couldn't help be gleefully gaze upon the seating that would have been available to me. I was hesitant to even order when the thought hit me that there should be more customers in this place. After all, mere months ago the line was just about out-the-door. The food looked good and reminded me of the Moe's franchise. You pick your food type, then point out the various things you want to stuff in your bowl or in your burrito. I decided to do some sampling since it was take out for the family. We had nachos with taco meat, and a bowl, and a burrito. We sampled each others food a bit once we were home and,... they all tasted about the same. The taste was average. Good, but not good enough to merit another visit. Maybe that's what happened to all the other folks how have come and gone. On the positive side, portions were great and none of us were hungry afterward.

Iâm sorry but they served half frozen food to me. The Especial dinner was not even cooked all the way. The refried beans were runny, I guess from the ice crystals that melted heating it up.Thought it would be good. Watch the video Iâll upload. The Chili Relleno should have melted cheese as a stuffing. I had two bites of something hard so I pulled it out. Frozen cheese. No, Iâm done. Packed up and went to the most authentic Mexican food restaurant in crestview, La Rumbas. Spot on there.

Arriving for an early lunch, we were promptly waited on and within minutes we were eating some awesome Mexican food. The chips were fresh and crisp, the salads were tasty and the tacos full of meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. An easy in and out, they are located on SR 85 next to the high school.

When you want a Tex-Mex fix at a good price with fast, friendly service, you can't beat Azteca. It's conveniently located in north Crestview right on State Road 85, so it's handy for folks passing through en route to the beaches. We happen to live here and like to come here on choir practice night (Wednesdays) when we can get in and out quickly. The food is consistent and tasty and the atmosphere is typical Tex-Mex, though as a nice touch the walls are covered in original airbrushed murals depicting Latin American scenes. In the last couple years they've added a selection of pretty darned good wings to the menu. I am addicted to the lemon pepper variety. Their salsa that comes with the complimentary chips has just the right amount of heat, but I like their queso dip better. For a quick, informal lunch or dinner, Azteca is the place to go.

We walked down the hill to this restaurant from the adjacent Hampton Inn where my wife and I were staying. The food was very good, there were many menu choices, the service was prompt and wait-staff friendly. Prices were quite reasonable. Recommended!
