Things to do in Cordova
The facility is nice and clean and the servers seemed okay. However, the food was barely second rate. I had the always safe Chile Colorado and it came with little pieces of meat literally swimming in a mass of sauce along with some fluid refried beans and rice. It didn't taste bad, but it wasn't that good either.

Had a pleasant evening at Abuelos in Memphis on a Friday evening..short wait for a table, had really good service from our waiter Troy and the food was tasty. The diablo queso is the bomb ! Enjoyed enchiladas, and some mini pork medallions wrapped in bacon and the beans on the side are a lot better than the usual mush served elsewhere. Sangria was tasty too, just the thing to go along with dinner.
I tried the food truck for lunch to see if a visit to the new restaurant was on order. I will definitely be going to the new restaurant!!! I sampled three items...brisket quesadilla, fried chicken taco, and smoked chicken taco. All were excellent but I have to say the brisket and fried chicken were my absolute favorites. They use quality ingredients and dont skimp on them. I've been to the more popular places and El Mero beats them hands down. It's nice to finally find some authentic and delicious tacos.

The Fogata Mexican Restaurant officially open its doors with delicious dishes 100% Mexican. See you there 10 am to 10 pm, with specials everyday.
First time visit after hearing some rave reviews on NextDoor. They have a small patio in front of the restaurant. Their menu offers some different items that the typical Mexican restaurant does not offer. That's a plus!! Wait staff was friendly and helpful. First, we ordered queso with our chips and salsa. I was disappointed in the queso because it have very little taste??! My husband ordered 4 beef enchiladas and he's picky!! He really liked them. The red sauce was very spicy! But, he loved it! I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. Our portions were huge! But, the fajitas had some gristle which was a turn off. Also, suprisingly, they had very little spice if any?? I should have sent them back and asked for some seasoning! They have a full bar and seem to make any kind of Marguertia you can think of. Mine had lots of alcohol but I ordered it frozen and it was half melted when delivered?? They need several improvements in our opinion.

Though this restaurant isn't "in" Memphis, Cordova is usually considered to be in the area. This place is fantastic. I recently relocated to this area and have been dying to find a good Mexican restaurant. DON'T MISS THIS PLACE! Great location, great service, and even better food. My husband and I ordered the fajitas because that's usually how we judge Mexican restaurants, and they were delicious. All of the peppers were fresh, the seasoning was perfect and all of the sides were amazing. If you want Mexican, go here! Trust me, I've tried most other places around, and this is the best!
Went here today with some business partners for lunch. The service was great. The food was great and very hot when we got it!

Queso Tacos Dinner ($12.25):: Chicken & Beef Tacos contained fresh ingredients & were overstuffed, as reflected in the PRICE-(Y).I mixed the standard Fake-Salsa with Red Enchilada Sauce to tone it down, & then dolloped it inside the Tacos. That combo also makes a very Mild Dip for the Thin Chips ~ Try it for the kids. Black Beans were delicious. I was glad to see a Mexican Spice Shaker on my table. But the mixture contained so much Salt that I couldnât use it. Perhaps the mixture could contain 90% less Salt, as there are S&P Shakers on each table?Utensils were wrapped in 1 flimsy nonabsorbent napkin, & there were none on the table. No more were delivered with my Jumbo Texas Margarita ($8.45) or the Chips & Salsa. Why make Diners ask for âextra napkins?â Mexican Food necessitates multiples! I suggest upgrading to sturdier napkins. Service from the 2 Female Servers was lackadaisical. 3rd* is for the 2 Guys, who were friendly & hustling, obviously enjoying their work.

I could not detect Tequila in the pre-mixed Happy Hour Margarita ($3.50). their ultra-thin unsalted Chips. As thin as Lay's Original Potato Chips. Salsa is spicy, Margarita glass is salted ~ Who needs the extra sodium?I almost ordered a Taco Salad, but decided on a #20 Combo ($8.50) because of the veggie Chalupa. It also included a Beef Burrito & Enchilada. The pale pink Tomatoes were pitiful. Lettuce was pale too. I would have loaded those back onto the Delivery Truck. It was a slow weeknight. Service was prompt & efficient, as expected.
