Folks, this looks like a Conoco station with a convenience store turned into a lounge. Please, please, please do your taste buds a favor and go inside. I am in the area for work, and am staying close to this location. A co-worker and I were hungry and stopped on a whim and boy were we glad we did. The place has several nice beers on tap, and an even larger assortment of bottles. We noticed the music, South American / Caribbean but didn't put two and two together until we were given a menu. The food is most certainly South American by flavor, and it is very good. The two dishes that were ordered were good enough that I will most certainly be back to order something different. You don't find food like this often. If you live in the area or at visiting, please go here. You won't regret it...

When i comlained to the cashier...the owner overhead me...rushed to the register and took my change out of my hand and started to berate me. I was not looking for any discounts. This was our first visit here. The service was great. The food was even better! Fresh, hot and lots of it! So much to choose from. We had a Fajita Burrito. It was awesome. It is really loud there, which isn't the restaurants fault. There was a group of people who were extremely drunk by 6pm. They were loud and obnoxious. But other than that, it was great. We will be back....at lunch time.

Not a typical Taco Bell, staff doesn't seem to care. Three of the past four times order was wrong when we got home. This isn't brain surgery to get the order correct but they can't seem to get it right at this place. Why do I still go here? Closest place to my house and overall I like Taco Bell, but this one sucks.

My husband and I stopped here while traveling through the area. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. The homemade chips are light and crispy but they only have one salsa. It is thin and spicy. The taste is good but a chunky option would have been nice. I took the waitresses advice and ordered Chicken on the Beach and it was very fresh and tasty. My husband ordered the Mexican plate which was standard rice, beans, taco and burrito. He said it was bland and unexciting. So, overall this is a mixed review.

I love this restaurant's business concept model! It is across between Chipotle Mexican Grill and Subway.Employees were fast and efficient! Every part of the store was super clean! I asked and was told this store was seven years old, and had not been remodeled. The store looked like it had just opened recently! It was that clean! My wife had their chicken taco and Vegie Nachos. I had their Mex streetcorn Chicken soup. My soup was excellent! We went in at 11:45, and watched how they handled the noon, lunch crowd. No one waited. Constant movement through the line! Four employees worked the line, with efficiency and team work! "Pure Synergy!" (Two of their employees were of Hispanic origin, and were bilingual.) All were very polite, and spoke better English than most fast food joints. We did not even know the Qdoba brand existed. We will seek them out in the future! When we get home, we are going to do the research on purchasing Qdoba's common stock, and look at their franchise policy.

La Gardenia Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

I've been passing by this small little restaurant for a long time since I enjoy visiting Cahokia Mounds and I enjoy small non-chain restaurants. I had been eyeing it for months, and after seeing so many glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp, I decided to try it out. My whole family came together after much coaxing from me to, and honestly, everyone enjoyed their meals for the most part. We dined in the patio, which was not as clean or nice as other reviewers seemed to make it sound like, but it was still fine. The restaurant in general was not all that clean but not dirty either. It didn't concern me, if that makes sense. When we entered there was no one to seat us for two or three minutes. Eventually a lady who was sitting right next to the front door in a booth, got up from her seat and seated us. We thought she was just another patron, but apparently not. My guess is she was on break, but no one else was paying attention, so she took care of us. But that's only a guess. Beyond that, there's not much to say. The food had good flavor and the portions were plenty big. Disappointed that extra chips & salsa weren't complimentary -- that just seems to be standard for most mexican restaurants, but it's still not a show stopper. So overall, I liked it just fine, until (almost literally) in the very last bite of my fajita burrito, I bit into a long black hair about 6 inches long, fried into the food. Sorry, I know accidents happen, and such. But as much as everything else was perfectly fine, that's just too hard for me to get past. Unfortunately, I won't be back, because I have a huge mental block from that now. :-(

We are part of an informal group which has lunch at a different restaurant each month. We never know if 2 or 20 people will show up. The personnel here were very accommodating. They gave us a long table with plenty of seats. Only 8 or 10 persons came but everyone was delighted with the food choices and the quality of the food. My husband tried the little chicken drummies and the shrimp soup. I had the fish and shrimp burrito. Others had some of the lunch combo plates. Every plate left the table clean as a whistle. The noise level was great. We could talk among ourselves without disturbing others. The service was excellent. The staff refilled drinks constantly and they were very friendly. The decorations are colorful and cheerful. We will definitely return.

Spacious, has outdoor dining during nice weather. Chips and salsa come to your table almost immediately. If want a different kind of salsa, ask for the "otra salsa". Chori pollo is sometimes greasy, but most of the time good. It's my go to dinner. Located in Collinsville in a shopping strip mall.
