This is a long standing restaurant in the old cowboy town of Clovis. Mexican décor and wonderful food. Not greasy, but fresh, and plentiful. Priced affordably. Waitress was fast and friendly. We will frequent this place when good Mexican food is desired and we are in town. Ice cold beer and great chips and salsa.
Last year while visiting California I loved the Pirk Carnita Tacos. This time I had the Chicken Tostada which I would have called a chicken taco salad. It came in a fried flour tortilla bowl. It is huge and delicious. Love love love the salsa bar. Price is very reasonable price is very reasonable. Wish we had one of these in Florida.
Rosa LindaâsClovis, Ca.2/5/16We went here with our sister & brother-in-law. This is a very nice restaurant with a very good atmosphere. The servers were nice and friendly. The food was outstanding with very good flavor. The wife & I had a taco salad, it was not like your ordinary taco salad. This one is not served in a big taco shell, it is served on a flat shell on a big plate. We enjoyed it and would order it again. The only problem is it is a 10-hour drive from my home in Yuma, Az. We do come up here about twice a year.Try it you will like it.Cap & Virginia

I've eaten at Carrillo's 3 times so far. The food as been consistently delicious. The Chili Verde burrito is a must try (get the combo plate). They serve their breakfast and lunch menus all day so you don't have to worry about getting there at a certain time to get lunch time pricing ( or if you're just in the mood for a breakfast burrito). The refried beans are homemade as is the salsa. The tortilla chips are also homemade and come to your table still warm with a bowl of lightly spicy salsa--delicious! The combo plates are a really good deal but my friend had their shredded beef tacos which she said were "the bomb"! This is a terrific family run restaurant with authentic-tasting Mexican food. Can't wait to go back.

Restaurant staff was very nice and efficient. Ordered lunch combo of taco and pork tamale. The ground beef taco was fine. The tamale had a little bit of meat on top, which turned out to be all fat. The tamale itself contained very very little pork and was a disappointment.

I wrote an enthusiastic review of Don Fernando's some time ago. We have been back several times. I thought I would tell TripAdvisor readers that Don Fernando's is just as good as before--maybe even better. The food is still superb from the homemade tortilla chips, guacamole and delicious salsa to the highly original main dishes at prices that are truly a gift. This trip I had a fantastic dish of nopal (cactus), with carne asada, peppers and fresh cheese. I have not had better in the best restaurants in Mexico. I can only urge readers to make a detour or a special trip to this wonderful restaurant.

Had dinner the other day and got to see some really cool older cars, usually dont stop but one caught my eye and since was there I figured I'd have a bite to eat. The chili Verde was ok, not as spicy as like it but decent taste.

We had great food and great service. The restaurant was busy, but we got a table quickly. The Waitress was super nice to our two children, talked to them and brought us more napkins. Had the taco salad which was wonderful! Would go back in a second.

We had a large group (@10) mid-week who met for dinner. We were accommodated easily and received our food very quickly. They have a full bar.Chips and salsa were great. Everyone seemed pleased with their meal. Prices are reasonable. Because of the large group, tip was added in. Handmade tortillas!
