2 for 1 tacos Tuesday. Best tacos in Grand Junction. Best tortas in Grand Junction (torta is a sandwich eg Cubano, their version is huge and the best Iâve eaten). Very good menudo. Large portions, filling. Has a little Mexican store. Hope you like it, too.

Tequila's Mexican Restaurant Provides Breakfast, Lunch, Appetizers, Burritos, Meats, Seafood and Mexican Meals in the Grand Junction, CO area.
Four of us enjoyed a wonderful meal that was within walking distance of our hotel. Some of the reviews had suggested the prices were a bit high, but after seeing the very varied menu, the very generous amount of food served, and tasting the quality of the dinners, we had to disagree. Alfonso, our waiter, was entertaining and attentive, the food was very good and the margarita lived up to its reputation. We would definitely return, and recommend it without hesitation.

Southwestern steakhouse where the menu changes throughout the year to keep plates fresh and to introduce new menu items.
We had an unexpected overnight flight delay out of Grand Junction and the airline put us up in a nearby hotel across the street from WW Peppers. The locals on our flight recommended the restaurant, along with a couple of nearby Italian eateries. As others have noted, the restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior is much more inviting - lots of wood and brick. We were seated in an area near the front and it felt cozy, although perhaps a little dark, while it opened onto a larger dining room with much more natural light. Our server, however, lit up our corner with a warm smile and attentive service, quickly filling our drink orders. Now to peruse the menu. The appetizers offered a mixed bunch, ranging from somewhat Italian salad and mushrooms to various Mexican genres, from a bowl of red or green to nachos, chips and salsa (yes, Dorothy, they're $5 - we're not in Texas any more), queso, and guacamole (seriously, market price?).The steak and seafood section offered a couple of cuts of steak plus cold water lobster and fried shrimp, all of which felt overpriced - $42 for a ribeye and $23 for fried shrimp - although the portion sizes seemed generous. Then there was the "Southwestern fare" section, which was...interesting. First of all, just about everything is prepared with flour or corn "shells", including burritos, enchiladas, and rollups, with fried chimichanga is the only thing in a tortilla? Our server explained that a "shell" was in fact a tortilla that had been crisped up in the oven. Huh? Why? Then, a few entrees contained ingredients that just sound plain wrong in Mexican food, such as cream cheese, seafood sauce, almonds, olives, portobellas, bacon. And I had to smile that the menu proudly states they use 100% real crab in the enchiladas opposed to...?On the plus side, while the menu prices for these items also seemed high, many of the entrees are available in a smaller portion, which we always gratefully appreciate.Having grown up on the Gulf Coast, with an adult child in Baltimore, I steered clear of the crab and shrimp and stuck with a bowl of green chili with four shell fans. Spouse opted for the smaller size enchilada supreme, and son, after seeing the full order on the next table, went for the smaller size chicken chimichanga. Both the kitchen and the server were efficient and we were served in a very reasonable amount of time. The smaller portions were definitely the right choice for us. My green chili was fine, although the flavor was a little one note, it could have used more of the tender pork and some seasoning (lime juice, cilantro, cumin?) with 4 four shell fans, basically 4 entire tortillas crisped on the fan ends and soft a few bites in - way too much bread. The chimi was also heavy on the bread, oddly not really deep fried, and covered in cheese sauce, although the chicken inside was moist and tender. Same with the beef enchilada - well cooked beef swimming in that same cheese sauce, which was reminiscent of that queso we used to make in our ramen-noodle college days.As for dessert, the large group next to us was celebrating a birthday and ordered the strawberry nachos, which were huge, so we passed, although they looked quite good. Overall, that table proclaimed everything absolutely delicious. I suspect it's local preference. Grand Junction isn't a large city and dining options can be limited. Kiddo and I found it passable, but spouse gave it higher marks, except for that overwhelming cheese sauce.

This restaurant has great food and margaritas but is very low on atmosphere. Everything we've tried from the menu has been excellent. Favorites: enchiladas and macho burrito. Usually, it's enough food to have left overs. We have been regular patrons for the past three years. The take out portions are exactly the same as if you dine in. The booth seats are vinyl, the tables are wood. Dress is jeans.

We asked a "local" for a Mexican restaurant lunch recommendation. She recommended Leon's. We were not disappointed. The location is in an old strip mall with easy access off I 70 business loop. There is ample parking. The service was very good. The food excellent. It is not in any way fancy, but clean and brightly decorated. Everything tastes bright and fresh. I had the chicken enchiladas in a cream sauce. The portion was good, but so good that I wanted more. My husband's shredded beef enchiladas were delicious. The chili relleno was yummy. The refritos were the best that I've ever had in my life. The flavor and texture were perfect. A bunch of working men came in and took advantage of the taco bar. They looked like they come in often. We will happily return for the delicious food and friendly service.
The Best...Southwest we are serving up breakfast burritos filled with our very own slow roasted Green Chile! Come see us for Fast & Fresh Breakfast! We also love big orders so give us a call & we can have your order ready and waiting for you!!
We ate here the first day they opened and have been back many times since then. The coffee cake is grandma's recipe and is a tender pound-cake style with brown sugar and almond/pecan topping (I think). Everytime I get it, I am surprised at how tender and gently sweet it is.It is a perfect side to the egg, cheese and meat flour tortillas. The burritos are big enough to be satisfying - but aren't those giant over-stuffed belly bombs that you sometimes see.We usually get just the egg, cheese, potato and green chile. You can get bacon, sausage, carne asada and others, depending on the day. It is somewhat of a grab and go place - you won't wait long!

Although it is not saying much: this is the best Taco Bell in the Valley. The sauces are still made by a chemical company in Pennsylvania, as with many fast food places, but the food smells and tastes good. The service is better here (and much better than the nearby McDonalds). There have been no murders here as there was at the North Avenue Taco Bell.

We were visiting Grand Junction for JUCO and we asked around for some restaurant recommendations. DOS Hombres was one of the suggestions so we tried them for lunch. The lunch menu was great, lots of variety and the amount of food for the price was a real value. We all took take home boxes. The food was excellent but our server was even better. I wish I had made note of her name because she was awesome. When my son-in-law spilled a whole glass of water across the table, she just took it in stride and took care of everything. Great experience!

Stopped for lunch, staff stood around talking to each other. Service very slow. Lunch service needs to be quick and efficient . Chile relleno was burned to a crisp, the beans resembled bean soup. Tostado was uninspired . We were charged for a margarita we didnât have. Mistake???
