Carbondale is a city in Jackson County, Illinois, United States, within the Southern Illinois region informally known as "Little Egypt." The city developed from 1853 because of the stimulation of railroad construction into the area. Today the major roadways of Illinois Route 13 and U.S. Route 51 intersect in the city. The city is 96 miles (154 km) southeast of St. Louis, Missouri, on the northern edge of the Shawnee National Forest. Carbondale is the home of the main campus of Southern Illinois University.

Chango's is a splinter-cell operation started by former Moe's employees and the restaurants are very similar. Chango's is better than Moe's though because of the ingredients. Everything is fresh and the taste is amazing. They also offer free nachos.

We were on campus, and we needed a quick place to eat. I've eaten there before. They have very good food. It's very quick. The prices are reasonable. We were there at lunch it and it was very busy. Parking was tricky. We will be back.

I have been here several times and would probably go back but wouldn't go so far as to make a special trip from outside of town. I go here to break the monotony of the lack of choices in Carbondale more than anything else. The service seems to be good as they are friendly and efficient but the prices are a tad bit too high to make this a lunch-time staple. The location is convenient if you're on the east side of town but this place comes across like a subway with burritos instead of cold cuts.

While the food is just rather ordinary, I give this place a Very Good due to the great service and good attitudes of those who have waited on me. Also free Senior Drinks are good too.

We visited to eat lunch on a Sunday. There were only 2 other customers there. The place is really dark and the lights kept flickering. The server was very friendly. We were immediately brought a basket of tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa may have been house - made, but had chunks of carrots in it. Very strange. There were about 8 whole chips on the basket and the rest were broken chips and crumbs. When we got our meals, they were both cold. My veggie fajitas were tasteless - just a glob of peppers roasted with little to no spices, and about 5 sliced mushroom pieces. The salad plate had about a tablespoon each of tasteless cheese, tomatoes diced, black olives, sour cream, black beans, and chopped onions. My husband had the chicken chimichanga. It was bland, bland, bland but the chicken tasted somehow like fish. We ate a couple bites and just left. We were in a hurry and didn't want to have to wait for a resolution to the sub-par food. We paid and left. We will never return.

We ate here for Sunday afternoon lunch with a party of 14. The service was pretty quick for a party this big. The food came out hot. The servers kept our drinks and chip baskets full. The salsa has great flavor. The food was good. I have had some better and some worse. So that is why I rated it as average. It's a good place to eat. They give lots of food that taste good for a reasonable price and great service.

Our son, an SIU student, recommended this place, and neither he nor the cooks disappointed us. My wife and I were impressed with the standards side dishes of rice and refried beans--the beans were the best we've had in years. Great pork and ground beef fillings, and for aa $1 upcharge you can enjoy grilled chicken or steak filling . Very authentic dishes. Also a winner are the fajitas, which include grilled tomatoes, a nice addition. The prices are reasonable, too.

Upon on a recommendation from my sister, I took my granddaughter, Abbi, to Don Sol's for lunch before pedicures. We both enjoyed our choices. I must say, I loved the refried beans.The wait staff was attentive but not obnoxious. I would highly recommend Don Sol Mexican Grill.
