Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Camarillo. Camarillo (/ˌkæməˈriːoʊ/ KAM-ə-REE-oh) is a city in Ventura County in the U.S. state of California. The population was 65,201 at the 2010 census, up from 57,084 at the 2000 census. The Ventura Freeway (U.S. Route 101) is the city's primary thoroughfare. Camarillo is named for Adolfo and Juan Camarillo, two of the few Californios (pre-1848 California natives of Hispanic ancestry) to preserve the city's heritage after the arrival of Anglo settlers. The railroad coast route came through in 1898 and built a station here. Adolfo Camarillo eventually employed 700 workers growing mainly lima beans. Walnuts and citrus were also grown on the ranch. Adolfo bred Camarillo White Horses in the 1920s through the 1960s and was well known for riding them, dressed in colorful Spanish attire, in parades such as the Fiesta of Santa Barbara.

Huevos rancheros were tasty. Comes with small salad, beans, rice, and tortillas. Was a little pricey for a taqueria, around $7. This is a small restaurant with booths and tables. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. They have tacos and burritos a la carte, but I will have to try that next time.

I took a visit for lunch it was Taco Tuesday and happy hor all day! The food, the drinks, the service, atmosphere were fantastic! The place was buzzing! I found out that they cater for everyone. Indeed, they have Military Monday...which is 15% off. The Owner, Justin, really does have a grasp on what his customer really wants and needs. Its well done to him. Please everyone....go visit!!! Its the best in the area!!

Have eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed. I could probably chose any item on this menu and be delighted. Reasonably priced, tasty food, quick and friendly service. What more can you ask.....

These are the smallest sized portions I've experienced at a Mexican restaurant. Some of the Camarillo crowd may not know better, but typically Mexican restaurants serve much bigger portions at this price. Also, the taste was only so-so. Below chain restaurant quality. I would not go back.

I used to eat here back in the 70's and 80's but it's been years sense the last time. My wife and I were in Camarillo on some business and it was close to dinner time and we just happened to be driving by this place so we decided to stop. My wife had never eaten here before so I was not sure if she would like it or not. The place has changed a little sense my last visit but it is still rustic and clean and it was busy, which is always a good sign. My wife had a taco and I had the Carne Asada. Both meals were very good and our waitress shared some memories with us. We will add the El Tecolote back to our favorites and start stopping in here more often. Good food, waitress was great and pleasant atmosphere. What more could you want?

Visited Camarillo Premium Outlets today and went to Los Arroyos Mexican Restaurant for lunch. We has Mariaâs Enchillada with steak. It was very tasty and the meat was very tender. Good coffee and friendly staff. The restaurant was immaculate and the decor is very nice. A nice spot for a snack.

California style Mexican food served Tuesday thru Saturday (current menu prices on this site are out dated) our business name is Olas de carlos surf grill since 2014 We've been here since 2002
I love Olas! This is nothing more or less than they profess to be. This isnât fancy âupscaleâ, nor is it a dive. Itâs a Mex Grill... there is a surfer 70âs/80âs music vibe, and food... lots of it! I love the salsas. My family eats here all the time... tostadas, pork, burritos... everything. My fav is the Chile verde burrito wet. This is tender chopped pork with a flavorful verde sauce. You could EASILY share a burrito and have take home (see photos).

This used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant, but this time was definitely our last visit. The chicken in my tostada was very tough (like old meat) and my husband's enchiladas in mole tasted strange. We felt ill on our drive home and we were both sick for several days after eating here. It's a shame because this used to be a great place.

A nice find in Camarillo for breakfast. A bit of a wait late Sunday morning suggested this is a popular place. Good Morning Cafe has a definite mom and pop feel. We were treated to some complementary mini muffins before breakfast. Greek and Veggie omelettes were our selections. Well made breakfast. We enjoyed this restaurant.

I ate at Yolanda's Mexican Cafe last Saturday. Our group consisted of four adults and seven children. If you have a large group, there is ample sitting. We ate around 3 P.M., so the restaurant wasn't too busy. The service was very good. While we waited to place our orders, salsa and tortilla chips were brought to our table. It was nice that they gave us 4 baskets of tortilla chips and just as much salsa. The salsa was excellent and it was nice there was enough chips and salsa for everyone. I ordered the carne asada burrito, with a side of rice and beans. It was delicious but overpriced. The plate was $14.50. For that price, I would have expected a larger burrito. I also ordered a Shirley Temple, which was good. It was nice that like the sodas, there was no additional charge, for refills.
