Appleton is a city in Outagamie (mostly), Calumet, and Winnebago counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. One of the Fox Cities, it is situated on the Fox River, 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Green Bay and 100 miles (160 km) north of Milwaukee. Appleton is the county seat of Outagamie County. The population was 72,623 at the 2010 census. Of this, 60,045 were in Outagamie County, 11,088 in Calumet County, and 1,490 in Winnebago County. Appleton is the principal city of the Appleton, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Appleton-Oshkosh-Neenah, Wisconsin Combined Statistical Area. The city possesses the two tallest buildings in Outagamie County, the Zuelke Building and 222 Building, at 168 and 183 feet, respectively.

Let me start by saying the food and service was good. However the salsa and red sauce both tasted like ketchup. It's not tex-mex style food, but rather more original style. I like both and unfortunately I have to say that I have had much better. I would not go back there again.

Saturday morning, came here for my Mother's breakfast. The staff did a good job. The food came out quick and hot. The American fries and eggs where good â Nov 8, 2018 Thanks so much for your help We are open until 10pm today! Stop in and and try some delicious homemade food! Tried this place because the l was told by the locals that it was the best. I found that statement not to be true. I ordered the enchiladas ranchera. The enchilada sauce was disgusting. The salsa forcthe chips qas too watery. The banana margarita did not have any banana flavor. Would not return here.

I frequently meet a business associate at El Agave in Appleton, Wisconsin, for business lunches or business dinners. We were at El Agave recently in May 2019.As always, the establishment was well-lit, clean, and welcoming. The staff are warm and friendly, and checked on us during our dinner meeting.I ordered the Burrito de la Mesa, with ground beef filling. The order came with a side of refried beans, rice, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato slice and sour cream. The food was mild in flavor.I do have one recommendation that I hope El Agave's owners consider - offering a 'make your own bowl' option to diners. I would love to be able to order this from El Agave - a bowl of their rice, topped with avocadoes, salsa, black beans, and onions.Other options could be any of the meats or seafood they already provide in their dishes, so the 'make your own bowl' would not require them to obtain any new ingredients; just offer what you already have.El Agave is a nice place, staffed by very nice people, in a well-lit, clean establishment.

First time customers. A Monday....not quite 7 pm. Learned that we missed the happy hour...ends at 6. Ordered 3 drinks, 3 entrees, and one appetizer. Excellent tastes! Whitefish, vegetarian plate and Avocado Shrimp. Guacamole and chips and great drinks. I had the Moscato with raspberry flavored ? and vodka. Choice of sides for each of us; we all chose the vegetable combination. Excellent! I'm thinking I need to return as there are so many interesting dishes! Mexican flavor, American....etc. We sat in a booth. Comfortable. Able to talk....not too noisy. Very good service. Tab came to $85. Many entrees are priced around high teens. Quite pleased. Even a carry-out container for lunch.

Staff has a musical flare when a birthday is celebrated. They all emerge with tamborines and drum sticks and bring their talents to the table to sing Spanish Happy Birthday.We were celebrating our birthdays as well but as we saw so many other birthdays we decided the staff needed to get the food out too. So we just enjoyed watching them go to the other birthday celebrators.The food came out piping hot and full of great Mexican flavors. Love the hot and spicy so the habenaro oil with a touch of honey and agave syrup and mango sauce was fantastic on my shrimp tacos.The chicken dish my husband had was juicy and the mushroom sauce was perfect on it. My Mom's chimichanga took up the entire plate. Was fully loaded with freshly prepared food. Nothing tasted like it came from a frozen bag or a can.The staff was very polite and helpful on food suggestions.He also explained the ingredients in our margaritas. A splash of red wine..who would have thought but was a great addition to it.Be patient as you wait for your food.Hot tasty food is worth waiting for.

The title of my review includes the word surprisingly. It was surprising because you don't expect such an authentic and wonderful Mexican meal. This meal could have been served in downtown Mexico City. Located in downtown, this place was quite busy although we were seated immediately. One thing, because of its high ceiling and brick walls, this place can get quite noisy. So, if you are looking for intimate conversation, find a time when its not so busy and you will have a quieter experience. They might consider investing in large tapestries! The mole poblano was some of the best I've ever had.

First impression: an adorable old house! Cute plants, clean and tidy, and nicely decorated. Even the bathrooms were clean! The lady that helped us was so friendly and helpful! The food was de-licious! The bean dip is unlike any Iâve had before, the guacamole was perfect and the even the salsa was perfect. I had the Taco De Pastor, and it was perfect! So much cilantro!! My husband had Taco De Toro, and cleaned his plate. Must try this place if youâre ever around!!
