We returned to Avli and had another great meal. The Saganaki is always tasty ($8.50). The DIN Beet Salad (13), Tzatziki (7) and Spetzofai (11) were also very good per my fellow diners. The Zucchine chips (11) seems a bit expensive though they were tasty. My wife always enjoys the mini rack lamb (29). The Chicken Souvlaki (16) and Poseidon Plate (24) and Beef Souvlakia (22) were all very good. Drinks were $10-16 each (Bacardi $16). All in, the bill for 5 guests was $267.60 plus tip, which feels a bit heavy but the food is always great. Service was good overall. The server forgot an order of broccoli despite being reminded once.Parking on the street is easy.
We have been long time customer of Michael and were apprehensive of what the new restaurants would be. We were not disappointed at all. Silencieux is the "quiet" restaurant in a small room (7 tables). the three course menu offered good choices. We ate lobster ravioli, smoked salmon, Lamb, beef and grand marnier souffle. we were pleased to see that he still offered the cheese puffs (gougeres) and chocolate truffles. All the dishes were outstanding.Good selection of wines by glass at a reasonable price.Service was good. We will certainly be back.

Top-notch balance of affordability, quality, expertise, accessibility. Nice walking neighborhood, open high-ceiling space with decent noise abatement (a personal plus), excellent and reasonably-priced wine list. Tapas menu is solid, diverse, but not overkill. Fresh prep, good cooking techniques. Postres as good as the frias i calientes. Top marks to the floor staff, especially senior waiter Juan (7pm 8/10/19), who was absolutely on-point: attentive, unpushy, capable of engaging individually and personably, made good and thoughtful recommendations. Floor staff, and Juan in particular, push the rating to a "5". Unmissable.

Another location on Oakton Street, Skokie, ILBoth locations new in 2011 and 2012
Been here several times. Always excellent. Lots of food on your plate. Meats are freshly cooked unlike some other places that serve lukewarm, precooked items. I get a platter which includes rice/bulgher, salad, and an appetizer such as hummus, taboulleh, or baba ghanous. . They offer a $5 lunch special but no substitutions are allowed.
