Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Windhoek. Many visitors to Namibia start their adventure in Windhoek, the capital and largest city of this South African country. Nama, Herero, German, Afrikaans, and British cultures have influenced the growth and development of Windhoek. Visit the statue of Hosea Kutako, a nationalist hero, in the gardens surrounding the Tintenpalast, the seat of the Namibian legislature, or chow down on ostrich kebab or zebra steak at Joe’s Beerhouse before leaving on a safari into the Namibian wilderness.
Things to do in Windhoek
I was in Angola a couple of years ago and I've been trying to explain the level of service and the type of food one gets at a Portuguese restaurant to my Partner. We visited a couple of restaurants and still I was not getting what I anticipated. Until I visited this hidden gem in Ausspanplatz opposite SME Bank. I had a fish meal and the fish was soo fresh that you could almost guarantee that it had just been taken out of the water. The rest of the meal was true Portuguese style with carrots, potatoes and cabbage. Absolutely amazing. The Portuguese are extremely generous so the portion of food is alway pretty big. Service was excellent. The chef even came out to greet us.I cannot give any criticism for my visit in any way.

We never expected to come to Windhoek from the UK and find ourselves eating tapas - but here we were, on our first day in town, tucking into San Miguel-style beer, patatas bravas, revueltos (scrambled eggs) with mushrooms and prawns, and aubergine and sun-dried tomatoes on toast with aubergine crisps. Pretty authentic, really tasty, decent sized portions and super-friendly waitresses, all in a peaceful semi-courtyard setting. Who needs to go to Andalucia (we do, several times a year, yand this place could hold its own well...)? Come to Windhoek and enjoy a tapas session here...!

I think this is in a hotel, but don't have the name of the hotel.
I have visited Kubata 3 times and it was a wonderful experience every time. Paelle and seafood platters are winners. You taste prawn when you eat prawn and the same for the calamari, flavours does not intefere with each other on the same platter. Don Pedro - don delicious. Friendly people and service is fine.

Charcoal grilled is our signature, whether it is for our highest-grade prime-cut Namibian free-roaming beef or game. Our signature dish, the Rodizio, adopted from Brazilian Gaucho tradition, is a variety of grilled meats served tableside using long skewer
They have very nice concept having "normal menu" and the really this meat lovers portition. Meat was mostly good (except beef :( ) and service excellent. You get easliy good variation of game meats at once.

This is a clean and modern dining establishment with a diverse menu â lots of pizza and pasta options. I had minestrone soup (excellent) and a pizza (also excellent). The table service was friendly and professional. The Blue Olive was very busy for a Sunday eveningâvalidates our perceptions about the food, the ambiance, and the service. All good!
