I was in Montreal for a girlfriend getaway, already filled with good times and good food. My boyfriend and I snuck away for a romantic dinner to celebrate our anniversary at this beautiful establishment. What a great pick!! The food, service and ambiance were all top notch. The charming server was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious - we each had appetizers, entree and dessert! Portions are not overly large, which was a plus for us since we got to sample more food. Overall, it was a pricey dinner but worth it for a special occasion.

The dinner at Sumac was a good experience with very friendly and helpful staff. The food was very good, with smooth and tasty hummus with tahini, a tasty and spicy Sabich, however the falafel balls, according to my taste should be smaller and cooked longer. The salads were OK but not extraordinary, we ordered the family plate so we got 5 different salads. The all in all experience was very positive and the portions were well sized.

It is important to know that the co-owners are from Morocco and from Scotland. Tapas have been completely "reinterpreted" with a touch of Scotland there, and a touch of Morocco there... Portions are generous. Service is really courteous and friendly. I was there with 2 friends and we have all been stunned by this restaurant. It was way above expectations.

Located in the west-end of Montreal. Yia Sou serves up Montreal's best Greek cuisine with exciting dishes and unique ambiance that can fit anyone's budget. We use only the finest ingredients. Every dish is made to order!
Huge portions of great food. I got their 2 gyro pita plate (24$), which came with fries, rice, tzatziki and a choice of soup or salad. They give complementary pita and butter before your meal. Their pita is so soft and chewy; really the best pita I've ever had! Service is quick and friendly. They have a pleasant outdoor terrace for warm days. The menu is extensive and authentic. There are also many vegetarian options. There is a selection of delicious desserts as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food - poor. A Pikilia plate should demonstrate basic Greek-cuisine capabilities. The taramasalata, eggplant puree and tzatziki were all quite poor. The skordalia (garlic mashed potato) doesn't belong - Would you really enjoy mashed potatoes smeared on stale bread? The taramasalata - one of my favourite things - was a tired, bland gelatinous paste. The tzatziki just one-dimensional fiery garlic without subtlety.Bizarrely, the Pikilia was served without any Greek pita bread. Apparently, they don't even have any pita in the place. This alone is surely all you need to know of a Greek restaurant. Lamb - frenched chops - seasoning okay. Small amount of meat, irregularly cooked. Gristle.Tired old version of imitation Greek cuisine.

This was a late night find, and turned out to be much better than we were looking for! Great menu. We enjoyed the gnocchi (stuffed with mushrooms) in a light cheese sauce, salmon tartare and a salad. We were seated at a beautiful round table (glass with a natural wood base) in the window, through which we could see the rain and wind from which we had taken refuge. It was a lovely experience, and I would like to return to sample other menu items.

It is said that laughter and good times are fuelled by exquisite food. All of these can be found at Ferreira Cafe, Montreal's veritable ambassador of Portuguese cuisine. Warm and refined, while chic and relaxing, Ferreira Cafe continues to be a true favor
Really wanted to like this place and was looking forward to some Portuguese cuisine after just returning from Lisbon. Started off poorly as they were 25 minutes late in seating us (but that stuff happens on a long weekends). Service in general was not poor but rather indifferent: slow and things had to be requested more than a few times. The steak was pretty good but the signature cod dish was massively disappointing (and had multiple bones). After having so many great meals in Montreal (i.e. Liverpool House, Bouillon Bilk, L' atelier, this was a big disappointment.

First time at this restaurant and we were all very happy. Food is very good! I had gnocchi gorgonzola and my colleagues had linguini seafood and it was yummy.
