This is a traditional designed space with a concept of a tavern that serves, or the main dish, is the francesinha. This plate is a sandwich served in a plat with a traditional sauce. Good beer, belgian, but you can also have the local one.
Restaurant with traditional Portuguese food. The main focus is the hospitality, the cordiality and the commitment to provide a great experience between the products made and the wines of the region! Specialties: Bacalhau Recheado, Bacalhau à Bouças, Lombi

Modern and clear light, the restaurant offers a good atmosphere for a good seafood meal. Located in the city center of Famalicão, this restaurant offers a reasonable sellection of fresh seafood and wide beverage options including "sangria".Small portions to share, the intention is to order several different shellfish and some bread as well. The prices are very reasonable!DO I WILL RETURN?Yes for sure and many times.

We visited Reza a Historia with a family group and were delighted with our meal. They produced a delicious vegetable spaghetti for our vegan granddaughter, while the rest of us enjoyed food from the main menu. The decor is pleasant and the service was charming. The desserts were especially tempting and most of us sampled these. Blueberry cheesecake got a definite thumbs up and the chocolate fondant cake was the best I have ever tasted - what a treat. Thank you Reza a Historia for a very pleasant evening.

If you're looking for a nice place to eat and drink, come visit us!
Our second visit to this excellent rural riverside tavern and to our delight it was even better than the first. The setting is beautiful in a historic stone building with a balcony over a crystal clear stream, making it an unusually interesting venue. They willingly produced special meals for our vegan and vegetarian granddaughters while the rest of us with more conventional tastes chose to have the meal of the evening. As on the previous visit, the food was superb, the highlight being the perfectly grilled steak which followed our delicious Portuguese starters. The service from Joanna and her colleagues was charming. Her English language is excellent and she remembered us from our previous visit, including our names and preferences. A visit to this lovely taberna is highly recommended. It has certainly been a highlight of our holiday in Portugal. Thank you.

The restaurant is located in central park of Famalicão which can be a great place for a walk after a big lunch. The staff recommended that we should go for the seafood platter and it was the best choice we made. The portions served were huge and the seafood very fresh. Great variety of seafood, cocked to perfection. Hats off!!

Family running business, this restaurant is an oasis in the desert! Starting with the best "bolinhos de bacalhau" i ever tasted, having a nice and confort vegetables soup and finishing with a delicious "bacalhau à casa pega", everything was really home cooking. And Ms EmÃlia and her brothers and sisters are friendly and very competent owners. The wine chart is one of the most diversified i have see in such a restaurant of this category! A real gem and great value for the money if you'd lÃke to enjoy Portuguese tradicional food. A trip outside big cities that is worth every mile!

GASTRONOMY, HOSPITALITY AND PORTUGALITY From our passion for cuisine and the rehabilitation of a former stable from the XVIII century, has born in 2006, Ferrugem - a place to celebrate our gastronomy that has as main ingredients the hospitality, the comfo
Portuguese food has always represented a mystery to me. The country has everything it needs to offer no less than other competing Mediterranean culinary traditions as the Italian or the Greek. And indeed some Portuguese dishes are very original and rich in taste. Yet, if you visit the country looking forward to try local delicacies you might find yourself quite disappointed by the choice offered by the vast majority of the restaurants. Apart from the famous âbacalhauâ and its 200 different recipes, most of the dishes consist of grilled meat and fish with potatoes and rice. Full stop. This is what people like and this is what you get. When we came at âFerrugemâ I wanted to see if these simple dishes could find their way into a gourmet table without being heavily altered by an international influence (these was,in my opinion, the case of the exquisite Yeatman restaurant in Porto). Chef Renato Cunha gave us the proof that this was possible. We went for the degustation menu with 5 courses for 48 EUR (you might also chose 4 courses or 6 courses for approximately a 8 EUR difference) and enjoyed it from the beginning to the end! Every single dish was a gateway to the most ancient Portuguese tastes, adding a discrete modern touch which makes them lighter, more enjoyable and creative. The wine pairing met expectations: from a fresh vinho verde to the full-bodied Douro white, you can travel across the flavours of Portugal northern region. This is a restaurant that could make foodies happy and locals discover the potential of this country beyond the four walls of their granmasâ kitchens. Hopefully a new generation of chefs like Cunha might be able to lead a culinary revolution that will allow the country to raise its standards without betraying its past. Parabéns!
