Doesn't look that much different to all the other restaurants alongside the lake but we enjoyed the best meal of our stay on Lake Garda. The weather meant that we ate indoors. We shared an excellent starter of parma ham and melon - doesn't sound that exciting but it was delicious - finely cut ham and succulent melon. OH chose the pluma pork which looked like ribs but was just nicely marinated tender pork. I had Filetto Elegante wrapped in lardo and without doubt the finest piece of fillet steak I have ever eaten. The owner (Nicola ??) explained the provenance - from the cows on the hills around Monte Baldo. He seems to take great care in every part of the operation and it shows. The chef was happy to wander out and chat. Memorable experience.

Slow food, slow service, slow life.
We approached this restaurant carefully. The "NO PIZZA" and "SLOW SERVICE, SLOW FOOD, SLOW LIFE" and "IF YOU ARE IN A HURRY COME BACK ANOTHER TIME" signs are not the usual approach of someone in the service industry. But previous experiences have taught me that where someone is so confident in their food, that they can step so far out of the norm, one of 2 things will happen.....it will be terrible or fantastic. In La Trattoria da Carla e Davide it is definitely the latter (but they don't do pizzas and don't be in a hurry) :-)The location is on the edge of town 10 minute walk from the central harbour, overlooking the lake in a beautiful setting. I've read a couple of reviews about "unfriendly" service....I have no idea who these people met but Carla and Davide are charming, friendly and helpful to a fault. It is only the 2 of them there so maybe it was a particularly busy night or something but I cant imagine the people I met being "grumpy" in any way. .........to the food.........If you like cheese, meats, salamis, cured meats, pickled veg, olives, (and these are just the bits I recognised) the Anitpasta della casa is a must try and is enough. for 2. For mussel lovers the Bigoli con le cozze (Pasta and mussels) is exceptional and presented in a novel and artistic way. The Prawn Fettuccine was also of the highest quality and, in fact, both courses arrived within and acceptable time frame even though everything is prepared when ordered. We followed the meal with an adorable coconut cheesecake.A lovely chat with the chef at the end of the meal rounded of the meal nicely. All the above with a bottle of local wine for under 80 euro. On a second visit we had the steaks and they were also among the best I've had.Lovely people, perfect setting, excellent food.....how anyone can complain about this place mystifies me. (At neither sitting were children present and this may offer a clue as to others displeasure)

Not uber touristic like all the other restaurants around them.Location: Nothing to say, the location is just fantastic. Directly on the lake with a fantastic view in the center of Torri.Menu: The menu is not to big. They have both sea and lake dishes, fresh made pastas and fish and daily proposals. Beautiful panoramic view over the lake Garda. Just sit down, relax and enjoy your wine and food :) Homemade pasta, calamari and dolce were delicious. The staff was friendly and the location was amazing. All dished you can take for two and share, then you get more delicious food to taste.

Situated on the main road through Torri, this little restaurant has a limited menu with wonderful food. A husband and wife team run the kitchen and daughter is front of house. We shares an antipasto platter with fried pillows of pasta accompanying, which were really scrumptious. fresh pasta followed, also great. We could not manage a dessert, but this was probably the best food of our holiday.

The "Gardesana" building has more than 500 years of history. It has been built by the Venetian Republic for the meetings of the Council of the Ten Communes of this side of the lake. After Napoleon, during the Austrian domination, until 1866, it had a dark
I recently returned from a two-week vacation in the Veneto region, of which the highlight was -- of course -- eating. And I had expected this place to be among the best. The reality was quite the contrary: it was easily the most disappointing culinary experience. The only dish that lived up to the hype was the "buon Ricardo" dish of crepes with local perch filling. These were indeed magnificent, melt-in-your-mouth light and creamy. Another member of our party had spinach risotto with shrimp, which was creatively presented, but not out-of-this world; the shrimp were far from the most succulent I had seen this region. What really disappointed was our main dish of Lake Garda pike. The fish itself was slightly overcooked. The overall dish was extremely bland, with an unidentifiable white sauce; I had guessed it might be hollandaise, but it had none of the tang of hollandaise. Additionally, the waitstaff did not get our order right; they brought the risotto first, then two plates of the Lake Garda pike. Somehow they missed the fact that another member of our party had ordered the buon Ricardo plate. This isn't an earth-shattering mistake, but this place is trying to present an image of formalistic, "old world" service. What comes across is is a vague sense of decadence and disinterest, in a way a bit reminiscent of the movie THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL.We enjoyed the flourless chocolate truffles given as a complementary dessert, and the pre-dinner glass of spumanti. Overall, however, I'd say Albergo Gardesana is riding on its reputation. (It's hosted celebrities such as Maria Callas, Churchill, and the Kennedys in previous years.) It needs a new chef with an envigorated menu.

Small restaurant located on the east coast of Lake Garda ( Torri del Benaco). Le Gemme di Artemisia offers cooking class in the morning and restaurant at the evening time with only 3 tables , therefore it is highly recommended to book it in advance. We ha
We truly enjoyed our cooking class with Chef Andrea, and Lara. They treated my family and I to a great day of learning how to prepare our lunch, and then being able to eat it later. I am not much of a cook, but had a great time. Their restaurant is in a beautiful, quiet location, with scenic views. Chef Andrea also recommended a restaurant back in NJ that he had previously worked as a guest chef a few times recently. Thank you both for a great experience.

Probably this is a family-oriented restaurant, and this explains why there were so many kids screaming and running around like maniacs. I am not against children if they are well-mannered, but when it is too much it becomes annoying for the other guests trying to have dinner and trying to exchange a normal conversation. Food was overall good, a bit over-priced, but what ruined everything was the atmosphere. Not to try if you see kids running around...

Piccola chicca nel centro storico, Cucina di sobborgo con rivisitazione. Scelta di prodotti ottimi e ricercati in tutto il territorio Nazionale
This fine restaurant is situated away from lake Garda, therefor a bit less crowded. We were with four friends and tried to figure out the menu when this waitress came to our table and started talking Dutch. She speaks four or more languages so this was very helpful. We had a wonderful and good meal, with drinks and desert for less than â¬25,- each. We even got a discount mentioning the hotel we stayed. Do not hesitate to go there, you won't be disappointed.Grazie mille...Dank je wel Hopelijk tot een volgende keer!!
