Reviews on Mediterranean food in Taunton, England, United Kingdom. Taunton /ˈtɔːntən/ is a large regional town in Somerset, England. The town currently peaks at a population of 69,570 as of 2018. The town itself has over 1,000 years of religious and military history, including a monastery dating back to the 10th century and Taunton Castle, which has origins in the Anglo Saxon period and was later the site of a priory. The Normans then built a stone structured castle, which belonged to the Bishops of Winchester. The current heavily reconstructed buildings are the inner ward, which now houses the Museum of Somerset and the Somerset Military Museum.

We had a nice evening here. The food was nice and the service was good. However, they started cleaning the restaurant before we had left, which was really off putting! We had just finished our meal and could smell the bleach from the mop bucket. We felt this was quite rude and not something you do when you still have guests.

The most delicious and interesting food. Visited with friends for a pre night out meal and all of us were blown away with how fresh and tasty the food was. Amazing value for money and lovely staff/owners. Please support this lovely small business. Awesome. One note, in the evenings you need to access it via a rear door as the shopping centre itâs based in closed its main front and rear shutters in the evenings.

The food was brilliant, we both had different meals and both were super tasty. The staff are very friendly and the food is great value for money. Only slight downside is it was very cold in there, but in fairness it was about freezing point outside! Will definitely be back regardless.

Wellington Squash Club played host to Abergavenny this evening and we held our post match dinner at the Skewerhouse. From first contact with the restaurant to leaving the door they were faultless. Great food, great service, great communication, I highly recommend a visit.

We booked last minute on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews. We had to take an early booking as they were fully booked but that suited us anyway. The staff were extremely attentive and informative. Nothing was too much trouble, children were welcome too. Even early on Saturday evening there were plenty of tables being used. The food was absolutely delicious and it is all cooked to order. If you want authentic Italian cuisine then try here. Not much to look at from the outside, and inside is more in typical cafe style but when the service and food is 5* that really doesn't matter.

The food was simply perfect, ambience and service excellent. This is one of the best places to eat in Taunton -such care and attention to detail both with the cooking and presentation. Front of house very friendly service which makes for a great atmosphere and we felt so welcome and at home here.
