Designed to send you from Fishtown to Beirut when you step in the door, Suraya is an inviting all-day café, neighborhood restaurant, and light-filled outdoor garden and bar located at 1528 Frankford Avenue. Our market is now open from 7am-5pm serving Stum
Having lived and worked in the Middle East for many years, I know Lebanese food quite well. Suraya in Philly taste just like the food I had there. The flavors are great and the menu is very Lebanese. The restaurants atmosphere is lovely too with an open kitchen. My main complaint is that the portions are very small. The hummus is like a lining on the plate and the main courses are quite small too. The wine list is very diverse but quite expensive with very little Lebanese wines.

Three stories of fun await you at the Continental Mid-town. Whether youâre relaxing in the lounge, swinging in a basket chair on the jet-set mezzanine or taking in the night on the airy rooftop patio, itâs a total reprieve from the expected. The mouth-wat
A good bartender who is amiable, skilled and knowledgeable as the one who presided at the downstairs inside bar on Saturday, goes a long way. Good conversation, excellent pours and full control of the pacing. This time I only stopped for drinks, but I have eaten there before and the food is very good, though portions are the opposite of Lilliputian, so dining family-style is highly recommended.

Kanella is a Greek restaurant located in the Washington Square neighborhood of Philadelphia.
We came for lunch, well prepared with a crisp white wine. We had the "mixed grill" special, which was suitable for two --- several varieties of grillled meats and vegitables piled high on a metal platter. It included two pretty hot green peppers which should be eaten --- but in small bites. We also got a beet salad and the lovely octopus salad. It was a marvelous meal for under 50 bucks (excluding wine and tip). Our server was charming and we also had a warm chat with the owner. We got the BEST seat, window right side near (but not too near) door.

Barbuzzo is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar located in the trendy Midtown Village area of center city. We serve small plates intended to share. With a wood-burning oven for pizzas & roasting, Barbuzzoâs menu features rustic, hand crafted regional fare
Two years since our last visit, this time we had dinner at Barbuzzo after the opera, so it was late night offerings. The food was as good as I remembered, so happy to have another budino (divine), the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a bit noisy for my ears, but you can be certain, I will return.

Ate here around 730PM on a Tuesday. The place was full, only spots were at the bar, no problem. The bartender was superb, very engaging, knew her drinks, and the food - all we ate were small plates of the octopus and shrimps, both of which hit the mark well. Perfect place for a light dinner and drinks.

Wow, is this place something. Exuberant staff calling out their orders make this seem a dressed down, Tel Aviv neighborhood kind of place. Donât be fooled: Zahav cooks up Israeli cuisine at its creative zenith. Order the tasting menu, which gives you free reign at $48.00 a head. We especially loved chicken shishlik, hummus with laffa pita, twice cooked eggplant salad, halloumi cheese in kataif pastry, and fried cauliflower. Beâte avon (bon apetit)!

I often wonder why most restaurants who serve breakfast even need to print a menu. Most offer similar selections of pancakes, waffles and eggs prepared in the standard combinations. At Cafe La Maude, a menu is truly needed because they offer an inventive selection of breakfast specials. And, these breakfast specials contain a broad array of vegetables, sauces and bread that are not often found on a breakfast menu. But, most of all, the food is delicious. The prices are a little high relative to standard breakfast dishes. But, given the quality and quantity of food provided, I think the prices are reasonable. I can't wait to go back !
