I was looking forward to some downtime with a pizza and a carafe of wine; Basiliana could offer me a table with a limited time: 19:55 when I arrived to 20:45 when they had a reservation - fair enough, I was happy to agree and was pacing myself accordingly. The pizza was OK, verging on quite good, and the wine was fine. However; at 20:30 they told me the reservation group had arrived and I had to leave. They were obviously friends of the staff, so I was simply chucked out early...Unless you are a) Polish and b) friendly with the staff, I suggest you avoid this place. The food isn't anywhere near good enough to compensate for the unpleasant attitude.

Apparently this place is open now for 1.5 years. It's a predominantly Italian restaurant. The location of the restaurant is not very special (from the outside) but the inside is very nicely designed. The menu is great, and all the dishes are actually also very nice. You can choose the wines (about 500) by actually looking at the selection of the bottles displayed in a a separate room. It's the only restaurant in Katowice that offers fresh lobster from a water basin. The restaurant is based in an old Harley Davidson shop, which has completely been reconstructed into a restaurant. As there's the old HD connection, apparently some of the motor clubs also like to come here, which was also the case when we had dinner. My advise to the owner is to not do that, although they were in a separate dinning rooms, MC clubs and fine dining do not go together very well, and it doesn't do good for the reputation of the restaurant. Otherwise, no criticism at all, but I will check next time if I am going to dine here if the MC also has booked, if so, I'll skip and come back another time. Another advise, they should warm the plates, it always is better I believe and this restaurant suits warm plates, nothing major, but a good improvement.Thank You very much for Your visiting and opinion. It is a pleasure for us to service our clients.

Location is very special, in a great park next to the lake. But also inside there is a very romantic atmosphere, open fire and piano music. Good place to meet friends or for business. I certainly would recommend the steaks, especially the one from Argentina and they have a very interesting wine card. Also the service very helpful and smiling. My next trip to Katowice will definetely include a visite to La Cantine, recommended!!

On the first floor of an office/ hotel complex it is a reasonable and quite busy venue. The food is predominantly Italian, cooked with a Polish style. However who prepares a traditional tiramisu without coffee? It's just a creamy chocolate trifle...â¦.
