Komme immer wieder gerne!

The pizzas are fantastic and the service great even though slow at times because the restaurant is very popular. If you wish some special pizzas don't hesitate asking! If you come in a group ask for some starter plates. The staff is happy to support you with your choice of inexpensive wine that goes well with your food. We are going back regularly due to the good price vs. quality ratio.

Service was great, even with a bus load of Chinese tourist taking up much of the restaurant when we were there. I must restaurant experience if you are looking for Mediterranean cuisine.

We visited the Stalden whilst on an overnight trip to Solothurn. It was a very warm and pleasant evening and they had space in the gardens of the restaurant on a nice table for two.We had a mixed dish of starters which included meat, fish and cheese which was very enjoyable.Staff were pleasant and friendly and the location was excellent. The restaurant was fully booked and we were lucky that the table we got had been vacated just before we arrived. Around 70 chf for a meal for two.A very nice evening out.

The Pittaria is a jewel in the heart of the beautiful old town of Solothurn. The Palestinian-born Sami Daher opened it in 1997 and made it known far beyond the city. From Tuesday to Saturday, freshly prepared authentic dishes and specialities from the Mid
Usually I am not into fast food and I especially dislike all 'Döner Kebab' places anywhere (except in Turkey), but here I found a small oriental take-away-restaurant, which really surprised me. In the middle of Solothurn's beautiful old town is this small eating-place, which serves the best middle-eastern fast food I have eaten outside the near-east anywhere. Some camel sculptures are welcoming the guest at the entrance, then some posters about Palestine and the menu's written in Arabic and German above the counter give no doubt about the roots of the place. If one check's further there is a good website about the 'Pittaria', which by now also has branches in Berne. And looking into Lonely Planet's Switzerland Guide I saw that this place is recommended in its short 'Solothurn' chapter (one of three eating places mentioned). All dishes on offer can be had in Pitta-Bread or on a Plate, which is about 4 CHF more expensive. There is not much seating place and all on benches at low tables, but the atmosphere and the decoration (with books on a shelve) is good. There is also pleasant Arabic background music. From their choice of Sabanech (spinach), Betenjan (eggplant), Hummus, Felafel, Halloumi, Samak (fish) and Kufta (meatballs) I went for the 'Shish Tavuk' (chicken) on a plate. One orders at the counter, gets served at the table and pays at the counter. One can also take a seat, if one just orders the dish with a hand-held pita-bread, and not on a plate.Since all is freshly prepared and since the place was quite busy at lunch-time (open from 11.00 to 14.00 and again in the evening 17.30-21.00 weekdays except Mondays) there is some waiting time. But the Chicken Shish came with Felafel, Hummus, lots of different Salad, with Chutney, Onions sprouts and more and one could feel that this place is run in an idealistic way.The two friendly Arabic speaking young men (among themselves) also spoke perfect Swiss German. Several people came for take-aways, so it cannot be considered a cosy eating-place, but for a quick quality bite, this is perfect.

This is a nice Italian place, but don't expect to find pizza. It's a smaller menu than you may find in a pizza/pasta Italian restaurant, but they focus on quality and not quantity. I visited this restaurant for lunch with friends on a sunny Saturday. We sat in the covered terrace in front of the restaurant. With good weather, this would be a lovely option. Although we had all been in Solothurn for several years, none of us had eaten at this restaurant, though we always heard good things about it. I've seen it described as a chain in other reviews, but the menus at the other restaurants are not the same. Thus, I don't think it's a chain, just owned by the same company. The menu and food didn't seem chain-like to me. I had the ravioli allâarrabbiata and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the spicy kick and I would definitely get it again. My friends' meals looked good too. I also had the tiramisu for dessert and enjoyed it as well. They shared some sort of biscotti that is dipped in a sweet wine. I had never heard of it before, but both of my friends are Italian and said it's a typical Italian dessert. It was definitely interesting. Prices are average for Switzerland with most mains between â¬25-40. Water seemed excessive though at nearly â¬10 for a liter. All in all, I will definitely visit again.
