On the main road if you make your way into Horst through Meterik, we phoned and booked in advance as even on a Tuesday evening the outside seating was full. Lovely setup with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are very polite and welcoming. The menus are in Italian and Dutch so some translation will be required. The chef is happy to service individual requests however the pizza menu is extensive and I challenge you not to find a combination you'll love. We can recommend the garlic focaccia, bruschetta and mixed seafood antipasti to start, penne arrabiatta, lasagne, salmon tagliatelle and pizzas for main and chocolate mousse and tiramisu for pudding. All the food was eaten and we were fit to bursting when we left. Our bill came to 180 euros for 7 people including drinks, coffees and a tip.

Went here for a second time as we had such a great meal last time! What really stands out in this place (besides the food!) is the great and genuine service from the waitresses. They could not have been more friendly! As a starter we shared a plate with Italian cold meats which was delicious and plenty for 2 persons to share. Followed by Veal rolls filled with parmesan cheese. As a dessert I had the scroppino which was delicious, however the Panna cotta was not so good as it contained way to much gelatine! All in all, very nice visit again to Lanterna and can definitely recommend it!PS they have a great wine menu as well!

Enjoy the taste of Portugal. We want to share our passion with everybody who enjoys good, honest and fresh food.
We visited the restaurant on a Wednesday evening. There seem to be two sections of the restaurant - the Chef's Table and "the rest". We chose to eat from the menu and where seated upstairs. The waitstaff is attentive and knowledgeable and were able to make wine suggestions without running to the kitchen for advice. As a starter, the Pulvo salad was fresh and delicious. For mains we ordered the Cataplana - a dish we are familiar with from trips to Portugal. The restaurant had run out of rice so we happily ordered the potato version. The shrimp/gambas in the dish were very overcooked. The waitstaff returned from the kitchen with the explanation that this was due to the traditional cooking method. Hmm.Desserts were good - the Portuguese Cheese platter with 3 small glasses of port was beautiful as were the Rice Cakes. Dear DvTh,Thank you for your review. We are sorry to read that your expereince was average. At Boca we stand for a good service and good food. The gambas in a cataplana shouldn't be overcooked. We will discussed your review in our team and we will make sure this doesn't happen again.Beste regards,Team Boca

Me, and my 3 sisters wanted to eat some great tapas in Venlo and found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. The atmosphere is immediately great when you enter the restaurant. Great vibe, good music and friendly staff. We picked the "surprise" tapas menu and enjoyed all the small dishes. During the dinner we had some amazing drinks, and I especially liked the gin tonics. The staff is super friendly, made a lot of fun and really understands creating a special evening. They have knowledge about the products and about their drinks. I've worked in Andalusia, the southern province of Spain and I can assure you that the tapas taste and quality, is similar to the food served in this restaurant. This was our first night out with the four of us after a hectic period of time. And Bij De Buren made it an amazing night. I definitely recommend this restaurant, their great staff, super friendly owner and the good food. Thank you!
