Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Senglea. Senglea (Maltese: L-Isla [ˈlɪslɐ]), also known by its title Città Invicta (or Civitas Invicta), is a fortified city in the South Eastern Region of Malta. It is one of the Three Cities in the Grand Harbour area, the other two being Cospicua and Vittoriosa, and has a population of slightly below three thousand people. The city's title Città Invicta was given because it managed to resist the Ottoman invasion at the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. The name is Senglea since the Grand Master who built it, Claude de la Sengle, gave this city a part of his name.

Life is short. Time is a precious gift and we should make the best out it. At times, we find ourselves reminiscing about the past, or thinking too much about our future. These both extremes may impede us to live and enjoy today. Our restaurant aims to giv

Sotto pizzeria italiana, rising up a72 hours, a mixture of selected 4 flour to eat the real Roman pizza. Sotto pizzeria italianaSouth Street in Valletta, 32.
This was recommended by a local. We couldn't get a booking as they were apparently full, but we decided to turn up and try our luck. Fortunately we were able to join a communal / shared table - which was relaxed and buzzy. Had a delicious pizza with truffle sauce - yum!! Fast professional service, nice decor, great tastes, fair prices.

A real 100% Italian Taste in Valletta. In our little take away you will find Fresh Pasta with only original Italian recipe and the only Pan Pizza Slice of Valletta. Music, smiles and very good food 100% italian.
Value for money pizza. It's a good choice for take away Italian food. The employees were very kind and helpful. Pizzas were very fresh, but the taste was just ok. Thanks for your review Jorge.

Also close is the Muza Café/bar, located in the Auberge D'Italie, Merchants Street, and also accessible from jJan de Valette Square. Coffee for two and (very rich) chocolate slice about EUR 8. The adjacent museum is also worth visiting.

When reading a previous review of this restaurant I noted âthe best carbonara in the world.â We made reservations prior to departing the US. It was an accurate description. The staff is exceptionally friendly, the vibe casual, the food good and the value noteworthy. Do make reservations. This is a small restaurant and we saw them turn people away.

My wife and I had just arrived in Malta after a long day of travel from NYC. We were looking for a good meal near our hotel and were pleased with the high ratings of this nearby eatery. Had it not been for the high ratings, we would have never eaten here - tiny place, no other dinners, horrible atmosphere. Reassured by the other ratings we dove in - mistake!! The owner chef and his wife (the only server) were friendly enough. The food was ordinary to poor. I had the seafood pasta. A generous mountain of pasta with no appreciable sauce and sparse amount of seafood. The mussels were tiny and did not taste right. My wife had the mushroom ravioli - the sauce was plentiful but the excess salt spoiled the taste. We shared a brochetta while waiting for our mains - tasty enough but served on a piece of plain bread not the customary baguette. As if the ambiance was not bad enough, there was a delivery of lobster right in the middle of our dinner. The box was plopped down right next as the chef move the lobster into the salt water tank in the front of the restaurant. Somewhat surprised about the disparity between the rating and our dining experience I went back to carefully look at the reviews. Many of the 5 star rating were from individuals with only 1 or 2 reviews and/or residents of Malta. Evidently the chef has lots of friends on Malta that over inflated the ratings. This is one case where you trust your instincts NOT Tripadviser.

We visited with our friends twice in ten days and what a fantastic meal on both occasions. We have been going to Malta for over 20 years and this restaurant in Birgu is a must. They also have a great selection of good wine to choose from. The restaurant is quite small, so you will need to book.

Went to this place to try Lampuki, the local seasonal fish while visiting Valetta. Totally lived up to expectation and very well looked after by our waitress, Irina. She explained the Fish of the Day and a nice wine to go with it. Bey impressed, as nothing was too much trouble and it made our visit memorable. Thanks Irina
