Scharnitz is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol located16.4 kilometres (10.2 mi) north of Innsbruck and 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from Seefeld in Tirol on the German border. It is one of the largest municipalities and has 10 parts: Au, Eisack, Gießenbach, Inrain, Jägerviertel, Oberdorf, Schanz, Schießstand, Siedlung, Unterdorf. The village was founded in the early Middle Ages and was once an important commercial route between Germany and Italy. The main source of income is tourism, both in summer and winter. Scharnitz is the western entry point to the Hinterau valley, where the source of river Isar is located.

I love the decor of this restaurant. There's a kind of Alpine hut inside where you can eat with friends and feel totally alone. Good pizzas and friendly attentive service. Nice outdoor eating area too.

Contrary to the series of previous reviews we visite il Tartufo restaurant last night and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. It was authentic Italian food in a real Italian restaurant with pleasant friendly service. Both pizzas and wine were very good though perhaps the wine could have been a little cheaper.

This cozy restaurant indicates itself as an Italian restaurant, but the variety of the menu is much wider. Their traditional Austrian Wienersnitzel was excellent, made out of veal, not pork. Of course their Italian plate was also perfect, the pasta carbonara, made out very Italian way. Service was efficient and polite, with quite fluent english. Prices are not so moderate, but considering the quality, thus are ok. They offer local beers, like most of the Seefeld restaurants, which is great thing. This little place has surprised us a lot - fresh food, made on the spot, delicious pizzas and the weekly menu was just out of this world! The owners are very very welcoming and caring, we hesitated first, if we should stay for a late lunch, but it was a pleasant surprise when we tasted the dishes. Recommended to everyone visiting Mittenwald!!

We spent a great evening there last week, its located in the high street and easy to find, we ordered pizzas and were certainly not disappointed, they were huge for a start but plenty of topping and thin crust which is what we love, the staff, Italians don't disappoint and they certainly didn't here , great food, friendly staff just great.

After a second visit to La Locanda, we have only positive remarks. It may look plain from the outside, but inside is delightful. Service has been excellent, prices inexpensive to moderate, with a menu to satisfy just about anyone. We've tried the pasta arrabiata, pasta with garlic, oil and pepper, as well a pizza. All sure to please. The mozerella bruschetta is a great, and very reasonably priced.For Italian in Mittenwald, La Locanda is our go-to place.

One word: amazing! This place is amazing! My risotto was simply delicious. The seafood in it was fresh tasting and really added to the overall enjoyment of the dish! My wifeâs pizza was extremely good, especially the crust! We would definitely come back again and again!
