I first visited Pepe Verde around 2 years ago and Iâve made regular visits since. Whenever I visit the Yorkshire Coast I always make an effort to drive to Scarborough for a meal at this restaurant as the calzone is amazing, thereâs nowhere else Iâve visited in the UK that makes a calzone this good, I can only compare it to the ones Iâve had when visiting Italy. The staff are amazing, theyâre all super friendly and welcoming and they always say hi to my dog and sheâs always happy to visit with me as they usually give her a small treat. I will be continuing to make regular visits to this restaurant in the future and I encourage anyone else wanting an affordable and delicious meal to do the same.

A quick visit for lunch after working nearby. It was the varied and â differentâ menu that attracted me. I chose a spicy Moroccan minced lamb pitta and was not disappointed. The spicyness was mild so didnât deter from the delicate Moroccan flavours. However, a home made tzatziki was included and helped cool things down. One great thing ... there was a small accompanying salad that did NOT include those awful trendy limp mixed leaves that taste like dandelions that so many restaurants think are good for you. No, it was a nice crisp iceberg that was full of crunch and flavour. Well done The Belly Rub. Just one small thing was that the coffee was not as strong as I prefer - but then, thatâs a personal taste and many people enjoy a smoother, mild flavour so I donât feel the need to dock them a rating because of it. The service was genuinely friendly and quick and the ambience was great. Overall .... a great little place.

First visit here tonight and all I can say is that the food was fabulous! Garlic and tomato bread was probably the best Iâve ever had and my pasta with mussels was amazing. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, polite and efficient! Will definitely be going back there and would highly recommend! Just brilliant!!!

Didn't really want pizza but we popped in, great decision. Very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful menu. We had a flamed cheese starter, a build your own pizza and a salad. All great quality, the pizza especially, definitely freshly made by a chef and not a pizza chain employee. Fresh toppings, excellent pizza dough. Gluten free is an option.

Came here for friends birthday it has a lovely laid back atmosphere. Took me a little bit to get my head around the menu with ordering small dishes , we all ordered two each plus four sides to share , it was all beautiful very tasty and filling , we also order a bottle of cava and two beers , the whole bill came to £77 which I thought was very reasonable, will definitely be back again really enjoyed it !

During a recent trip to Scarborough we happened upon this delightful restaurant. From beginning to end the welcome and service were perfect. We booked a table which was reserved for us, but we were given the choice between the two remaining tables for four available. We decided to order a combination of starters and main course dishes to share mezze/tapas style, which was a bit 'off piste', but accepted and accomodated without hesitation. All of the numerous dishes were delicious and our chosen Turkish wine extremely nice. I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant, it was great and excellent value for money. So pleased we found this place.
