You'll need to explore the backstreets of Victoria to find food worth hunting for, but once here you'll be glad you did.Off the tourist track and with none of the traps, Maldonado Bistro is the sort of place only locals know about but with the food and am
Outstanding location. Attended the wine tasting with five course. Food and wine tasting was hosted by a passionate chef, who guided us through eight different wines. As I said, the chef was extremely passionate about both the wine and the gorgeous food. Prior to his we went on the walking tour, which we enjoyed as the guide was very informative. Enjoyed the evening a great deal.

Casual dining Restaurant open daily for Dinner and Sunday lunch including a Wine Lounge also serving platters. Amazing views of Citadella, Gozo's ancient capital city and open country views.
Had a delightful dinner at Brookies Restaurant during my short stay in Victoria. First of all the place looks fantastic, it used to be a farmhouse and has 300 years history. My attention was caught by a salmon with white chocolate sauce and black caviar, which I eventually ordered. The combination of these ingredients tasted divine. I had local white wine (La Torre, highly recommended). My partner went for a duck in strawberry and fig sauce which was also very yummy. We shared a chocolate fondant dessert at the end. The staff was very friendly, the waitress only forgot to place our dessert order and it took some time to get it. All in all, it's a great place and a good value for money.

A beautiful venue, excellent service, and such good food! This is the second time I celebrated my birthday there..and each dish was amazing (and the birthday cake). Vegetarians are catered for, and personal attention is given to special requests. Thank you Joseph, and your team!

We had two excellent meals here and in May and decided we must go back, so here we are.Very busy Restaurant on the Square in Xaghra.Shown our booked table immediately on arrival . Menus and wine list presented quickly. Ordered aâ specialâ pork belly with crispy skin and sea bass stuffed with prawns. As a surprise we were given a small cup,of onion and potato soup, and accessories while waiting for main. Sea bass was excellent as was the pork belly that I had. Itâs unusual these days for it to be served with crackling skin. Good vegetables including roast potatoes. Good wine list to choose from including local beers and local wine.Excellent sweet menu. Staff and management very attentive throughout. Once again I must add that you must book in advance at these top rated Restaurants. People do get turned away.Would thoroughly recommend this Restaurant. Not expensive for the quality of food served.Ps. We have already booked to return this week

Located in the heart of Victoria, just one minute away from the bus terminus. Coffee Break is the ideal place for either a quick lunch or for a quick coffee during breaks in the working hours or for a relaxing lunch/coffee. The menu gracefully combines al
We were looking for something to eat before our next bus and we found this place conveniently located near the bus station. We set in their outdoor yard and ate local ftira, bread stuffed with olives, capers, lettuce, tomatoes, tunafish and local cheese. The food was delicious and I particularly enjoyed the local Gozo spicy cheese.

Situated right on the water's edge and next to the statue of St. Andrew in the fishermen's area of the bay, The Boat House Restaurant is ably run by Joseph Attard and his wife Rose. It has established itself as a must visit restaurant when visiting Gozo b

With so much dramatic cliff-top coastline and its majestic rugged landscape â coupled with a particularly vibrant dining scene â itâs no surprise that Gozo boasts some of the best places to accompany your meal with some seriously spectacular views. Steeped in myth, Gozo is thought to be the legendary Calypso's isle of Homer's Odyssey - a peaceful, mystical backwater. The island is tiny in size, but it is otherwise vibrantly alive and is surrounded by the most scintillating and transparent waters in the Mediterranean. Many hikers enjoy walking along the promenade following the stone walls towards the tranquil Il-Kantra Lido Bar & Restaurant (also known as Kantra Beach Club) which offers unbeatable views of Taâ Cenc Cliffs down to the sea. Senior folks like us preferred driving down to a reserved parking area above the Restaurant. The food is straight forward and rustic here with typical Sicilian cuisine along with some local dishes. Being seated a few meters above the Il-Kantra Beach makes the whole experience feel quite exceptional. Whilst many enjoy the sophistication and modernity of the Five Star Hotel Taâ Cenc interior restaurant, it is the Taâ Cenc Il-Kantra on the charming outside terrace, set on the waterâs edge near Mgarr ix-Xini that clients seek during Summer. It was a special day for us, celebrating our 46th Wedding Anniversary. We knew well in advance that all the dishes are cooked to order so we were very choosy with our desires. As we were accompanied by a couple of loving friends, we all agreed to have a light starter thus giving the necessary time for our main dishes to be cooked perfectly. Sauté di Frutti di mare-Seafood sauté (mussels, clams, razor clams) and Veli di Pesce Spada marinate e Granelli di pistachio (Slices of marinated swordfish and pistachio granules) were enough for us to share. We digested our fish starters watering them down by slowly sipping our drink of Orange Spritz. I was not at all happy with the choice of the various species of molluscs and crustaceans. Too blunt and unsavoury. As my wife does not eat meat she had a grilled Amberjack (Acciola) us three preferred meat. Our friends had Entrecôte di Angus ribeye (Grilled entrecôte of Angus ribeye -300g) whilst I settled for a Filetto di Manzo Angus (Sautéed Angus beef fillet -300g). These were served with oven-baked roasted potatoes and veg. Excellent choices, perfectly cooked. For dessert, we ordered two ice creams. One chocolate and one orange chocolate.Although at the pricier end of the spectrum, the food here is fantastic. However, as our friends are Hotel/Lido members we benefitted from a good discount. Total bill, comprising of food, 2 large bottles of water, 3 Aperol Spritz, one bottle of Marenzio red wine, plus 3 espressos came to â¬167.00 tips inclusive.FOOTNOTE: The service was superb.

Excellent food with good quality beef cooked very well.Lovely ambience with attention to detail. It was all marred when the bill came.32 euros for a 300 gram fillet in the middle of a little village in Gozo ?Desserts priced at 6.50 euros. A wine list with a large selection of high end wines and a very small choice of mid end bottles.A great pity considering the potential.
