This is a lovely place with a nice bar and upscale atmosphere. the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Nice wine selection. The menu is fairly limited which prevents patrons from coming more often unless you enjoy getting the same thing over and over

This is a small, very casual new restaurant recently added to the San Rafael/San Anselmo area. It has only about 15 tables with an open kitchen. They serve only wine and beer. In some ways it is very similar to Cucina SA in neighboring San Anselmo. It is a small but varied menu of modern Italian fare. Right now reservations are scarce under three weeks, but I am sure that will change over time. It is a noisy and bustling place. I do wish they could tone down the music a bit since it is actually rock music and a little inappropriate for the space. The simple interior is nice though. The service is casual with every staff member pitching in. One moment it is bus staff delivering dish and the next the hostess is flying by and grabbing an empty plate. Our main waitress was friendly and efficient. Food came out at a reasonable pace. Often it suddenly appeared by a stranger and was plunked down without much fanfare before they were gone. Our prosecco was served in large squat glasses for a sauvignon blanc which I had not seen before. The wine list was small with both Italian and Californian wines. Our frito misto starter was delicious with only a light coating and a very good aioli for dipping. I loved the fried spicy olives included. I wanted to try one of their homemade pastas this time. I typically do not order pastas when dining out but that and risotto is a good test for any restaurant. Mine was thin fettuccine al dente with pepper flakes and nice small clams. My companion had the baked cannelloni with chicken and pork. I had wished I could have tried the special which was swordfish. The side of sautéed greens was fine but overcooked and obviously had sat for a while. The only disappointment was the lemon tart which was cold and with a hard, thick crust that tasted commercial. It was topped with a mere teaspoon of whipped cream. They only offer about for desserts. Parking is on the street and is not difficult. Our tab was about $50/pp. I am looking forward to see how this restaurant matures. It is obviously very popular with local families.

Had never been to a Persian restaurant before, so have none to compare with. In shopping center; would have been kind of hard to find if our son had not been there. We got the "family style" selection. Very, very good. Great, pleasant service.

Everything here looked good and it ended up tasting as good as it looked. I decided to order a number of small dishes--Bab Ghanoush, pita, felafel balla, & spanakopita. It made for a wonderful combination, which I enjoyed very much. This was one of several Mediterranean restaurants we saw in the area. I wish this were closer to our home. I would be back often.
