Our sailing friends and us decided, when we were ashore, we'd eat at the recommended 'Cheap Eats' from Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. As always we ate too much. A few nautical miles have passed and I can't recall what we ate, but it was delicious. It looks like it's family run. A must.

Popular spot overlooking the sea at far end of town.We started with the prawns served with their home made marmalade which was delicious and recommend,I was then very adventurous having stuffed calamari with spinach and pine nuts.Huge plate but managed to finish it off.You can buy the marmalade at £15 a jar.

All-day Restaurant with Mediterranean philosophy, local ingredients and a wide list of wines and cocktails. Don't forget to visit our dreamy terrace on the first floor !!!
Went here on a local recommend. The tables are right on the water front and the place is comfortably covered from the sun. We had food from steak, burger, fish & pasta between the 4 of us and nobody had a complaint, empty plates all around. The staff were chatty & friendly. In fact the lady that owned the place was so chatty & friendly it turned out her brother & son owned the brewery for the Kefalonia Beer I had been drinking. She told me all about their start up and how she helps bottle the beer. Well great story, great beer, great restaurant. So Great I purchased a crate of beer to take home with me, I drink one now as I type.

The oldest and the best tavern in Sami since 1942 !!
Not very welcoming staff. Even though we were very cheerful to him. Ordered all Greek items, it was JUST ok, had much better here in Sami. Sagan Ali was nice, dolmadies much better from Contessa. Kefalonian meat pie was very dry. The Staff just didnât seem bothered.Anyway it was ok, but do not have the house white wine it was seriously not nice.

We tried most of the sea front Tavernas during our two week stay in Sami and would say that the food in the Dolphin was probably the best. I had Pork Loin in mushroom sauce and my wife had Chicken in pepper sauce both dishes were delicious. We ordered Dolmades for starters which failed to turn up and I think that was as a result of how busy the restaurant was on Saturday night, this resulted in a long wait for our food. Apart from that mishap, which the owner rectified, we had a lovely meal and I can highly recommend the Dolphin, the food was spot on and tasted fresh.

At KALLITHEA you can find a wide selection of home made traditional Kefalonian dishes, all prepared with local products and fresh ingredients. The magnificent view of the ionion pelagos combined with the green mountains of Kefalonia will make your lunch o
A few nights ago I came here with my partner to try trip advisers no1 restaurant in Sami and we weren't disappointed. We ordered the stewed goat in sauce and vegetables and the souvlaki with pita and chips. Both extremely rich and tasty! We then got cake and ice cream and the lovely lady who was serving us brought out some complimentary melon. All of that including half a litre of wine came to around 30 euros. The only thing that tainted our experience was the neighbours dog that kept barking outside; however it appeared to be out of the restaurants control as the restaurant owner was getting sick of it!

Our Taverna, Pyrgi is a small family owned business that specialises in homemade organic Greek cuisine.
The food we ordered was very special. We tryed traditional food like goat and sheep. It was interesting and well cooked. The prices are ok. In the beginning we remarked the waiters as very considered but after a while they were too insistent. Too many people come too often to offer the same thing. In the end someone made a photo to put it in the internet and they ask for a recommention on TripAdvisor,fb and so on. That was really annoying and too much!

Deco Art Cuisine
We came to this restaurant only because of the 1st place in Sami according to TA. But comparing to other places in the town which we visited during three weeks Deco isn't above the middle, probably even below. Service was not attentive. We waited for menu and wine cards for 10 min and another 10 to make an order. One dish was good - blue cheese salad. Aubergine salad was nice also. However we had to ask for a bread separately though it should come with such salad by default, as well as lemon should come with octopus by default. But in this place it doesn't come also. In addition Octopus was overgrilled. Prawns saganaki contained ...just three prawns and cost 9 euro...see picture. Moussaka was nice also. The bill is above average for Sami. We would never return to this restaurant(
