Restaurant was completely empty and it took us 15 minutes to get served at which point or entree options are limited because they waited so long to serve us and the kitchen was closing. Also, they have a "special" tourist menu that doubles the price of all entrees - isn't that cute!? Not a fan of that practice, won't be back. We are tourists but we're quiet and like local places; these people weren't as friendly as you'd normally encounter in Madeira.

We enjoyed the open air seating, sea view and breeze, fine drinks, and delicious bola de cago, fish soup and lapa mussels - it is worthwhile to come here and hang out. Owners speak various languages (English, Spanish, German), staff is super friendly. After lunch go for a walk through the village of Jardim do Mar, a real garden with old houses and lots of terraces, a repaired water mill and very pretty village. Great place, highly recommended. Child friendly.

What a find. Recommended by the owner of the house we are staying at and already planning to go back next week. Our group mixed it up with seafood, lamb and beef. Each one better than the other. Being particular to seafood myself I fear that this restaurant will have spoiled it for life. How can anyplace else compare? Fantastic ocean view overlooking a ruins from the days of yore. This is a must go place.

This is almost a repeat of my previous review - no apologies.Went for Sunday lunch with local Madeiran friends. Heaving again, packed with locals but good service.Madeiran steak excellent with lots to accompany it. The milho (fried corn) still the best I've had on the island. They kindly repeated the vegan bake for my wife and again half was taken home for dinner the next day.The staff were attentive and friendly throughout and the cost was very reasonable.Highly recommended.

STILL TEMPORARY closed due to the construction works on the mountain ordered by the regional government. We still don't know when we are allowed to open again. We apologize for this and will let you know about the reopening of the marina as soon as we get
This was a wonderful unassuming place, more like a Cafe atmosphere than a restaurant but has capacity of a restaurant & quality food to boast.Young people run the business but the ingredients/cooking used is absolutely first class. Alejandro served us on the first visit where we had a prawn pizza, which was plenty, thin crust but really tasty, swallowed down by a cold local beer. All you can hear is the water buffeting against the barrier at the harbour/marina with boats all around & locals using for walking, smoking & chatting. Really lovely romantic place to spend evening & munching into the generous pizza.Wife tried an unusual chilli flavoured ice cream quite unique in taste.Place is really made memorable for the people that works there & their own stories of life/expectations in Madeira.Great honest food with fair prices.Must Eat & please pay tip direct to Staff, they really deserve it..

Because we value good service, and we believe in working with quality, we only open by reservation in advance. We are just two people, in this typically family restaurant, and we try to provide a fantastic experience to who chooses our restaurant to eat.

Traditional Portuguese and Madeiran Food. Closed on Thursday. Kitchen Schedule from 12:00 to 16hoo / 18h00 to 22h00. Closes on Sunday and Holidays at 18h00.
Prazeres Rurais always have food that feels like it was home-cooked. There is a slight drop in some ingredients quality (some meats in the cozido), but overall still good. The service is friendly and good price/ quality.Ecological remark: doesn't make sense to only have plastic small bottles of water. In a restaurant there is no reason to not use glass bottles.

We went experimenting with the feedback being so high,we arrived the employee was friendly although only speak portuguese. We ordered "minced meat" and limpets.whe waited for a long time 45 m ok whe wre not in a rush but then insted of meat he brought octopus i found it funny but i don't like octopus! I went to talk to the cook because she speaks fluent English and when I got to what they call the kitchen I was terrified it was such a tiny space where meat was store whit fish and juice and fruits it must have been about 45 degrees where the cook's sweat fell straight into the food.I just left the place feeling sick.
