We were on a short break holiday and popped in here last week for lunch. Surprisingly busy on a week day out of season. We found out why though, the food was absolutely superb as was the service. Great ambiance with lovely views over the Solent. The scallop and bacon on brioche rolls were outstanding and my wife's crab salad on sourdough was pronounced as superb. And for an extra special delight, try the haloumi fries, take care though as they could cause serious damage to the waistline. All in all, highly recommended. Wish we lived closer, it's a long drive from Scotland.

Portsmouth's first Lebanese Eatery + Shisha Garden, perfect for mega-foodies, now with BYOB! Our recipes date back 3 generations and we pride ourselves on using the freshest, whole ingredients for the most authentic mezze and charcoal grill in the area!
This is the second visit to this restaurant and have to say the food was just as good this time. We decided to make a variety of Mezes rather than the standard starter and main. All the dishes were very well cooked and arrived quickly. The Hummous with meat was superb, so was the Arrayes with cheese. The cheese and mince meat bouregs were very tasty and the Sujurk was very tasty. Very good value.

We have been to many different Carluccios (gutted that there isn't one closer to home as I really enjoy their food!) so when visiting Portsmouth for the weekend, we were excited to find one in Gunwharf Quay and popped in for dinner. We hadn't reserved a table however the gentleman that greeted us - I can only assume he was the duty manager or something as he was brilliant, shaved head on the sides and longer hair on the top and to the front - found us one and invited us to have a drink at the bar whilst waiting for the table. We were seated within five minutes and the same gentleman came back to show us to our seats, talk us through the menus and introduce us to our waiter for the evening. Whilst seated at the bar, we also saw him walked up to a number of parties who were standing up to leave, to check they were happy with their meals and with the services they had received. It is this kind of service that you just don't normally get in your average high street chain and is more akin to a michelin starred restaurant.Despite the restaurant being really busy (every table was full), our order was taken really quickly. We ordered everything at once (didn't have a starter as we were starving!) and the food arrived within fifteen minutes of ordering. The food itself was really tasty (as you would expect from a Carluccios) and we left full and very happy. This restaurant was definitely a cut above the rest of the Carluccios we have previously visited based on its service and the whole experience. Highly, highly recommended if shopping in Portsmouth or for a special occasion - it feels a lot more expensive than it is!Good morning Flick,I was delighted to read your wonderful review of your recent visit to us. How lovely to know that even when we are busy we are able to deliver outstanding customer service. We really hope you will come back to visit us again soon (perhaps to try our Christmas menu!).Kind regardsNicola InghamAssistant General Manager

Our 3rd visit in 18 months. As before, a thoroughly enjoyable lunch with superb food and good service.Perfect Minestrone, garlic bread and pizzas. Huge portions, well-cooked, hot and looked great on the plate. My mushroom/onion/peppers pizza was as good as it gets.Friendly efficient service throughout.Comfy seats and spacious.Unless you want a window table, or are a large group, probably no need to book apart from peak evenings. It deserves to be full though. On road parking nearby, level access.Love it.

Buzzy tapas Portsmouth style with inventive drinks offer. Clearly the place for professionals to come with friends for bright conversations - though obviously not exclusively or why were we there?. The tapas themselves are mostly small portions of what would normally be a main course and very well cooked and presented. Big salads. Nice crockery. Lots of veggie , gluten free and other dietary options. Service a little on the flurried side but not disagreeably so and pleasantly amiable.

Excellent service, very helpful and friendly. Felt welcomed and comfortable, even though we were the only ones there late on a week night. Food was great, meat was cooked perfectly, tasty and succulent. Rice, salads, bread and hummus and chilli sauce all great too. Large menu with lots of choice.

We are a Portuguese restaurant with an American twist. We pride ourselves with our traditional Portuguese style tapas, complimented by our own take on steak house dishes. For those a bit more adventurous as well as for those that play it safe, Algarve's G
Visited this restaurant once before and wanted to come back. Returned with friends and the welcome was fantastic. The employees in this restaurant are so attentive and the service is brilliant. A very extensive menu with lots of choice including tapas. The food is so beautiful and colourful and the flavours are delicious. It is a busy restaurant so I would recommend to book, this is probably because once you have visited this independent business you will definitely will want to come back.
