The S Pedrorestaurant from the outside does not discriminate from manyother places in the Alentejo. The food however is of much higher quality than you get elsewehere. The restaurantserves typical Alentejana style food that has been prepared with detal for attention and taste. The various types of Migas for instance are delicious. The home made deserts are also not to be missed.

We decided to have lunch here today and tried the three dishes of the day they had on offer. Food arrived lukewarm, including steaks were not piping hot and the famous "Bitoque' pork steaks arrived in a puddle of liquid and looked pale. Soft drinks were of a non branded and not known brand including ice tea and coke. My husband's "Bife a casa" which was suppose to be a steak with chips in a prawn sauce came swimming in a strange looking sauce and the prawn tasted strange and when you cut their heads off they were bleeding. We were told that prawns are like this, I never saw this before. Anyway, we were offered to have food reheated in microwave and that's the reason why my cod had hot and cold patches. The bread tasted like cake and the marble cakes given for free also didn't look at all apetizing. Anyway, it all left us with a very strange taste and a bad feeling after spending 25 euros and leaving our plates full even though we were still hungry.

Quinta do Quetzal

Relatively new winery (2002) with fine restaurant showcasing the range of wines accompanying very good food. Diverse menu with snacks, full a la carte, and two fixed price menus including wine with each course. Tasting menu featured well cooked, well presented dishes. The service from each member of staff was highly attentive with interesting explanations/descriptions of both food and wine. Delightful surroundings. Excellent value for money.
