Visited here while staying in Paignton for a week. The name suggests a diner serving burgers but it is actually a lovely little upstairs restaurant majoring on fish, overlooking the sea. Because we were near the front of the restaurant (but not on the balcony bit, which might be a bit chilly later on) we could see Torquay across the water gradually lighting up, which was very pretty.I treated myself to scallops followed by the lobster. The 3 large scallops were very nice and cooked just right. The lobster felt a little small for the price (I appreciate it is a very expensive fish) but was nicely cooked and has been well prepared - no need for all of the âequipmentâ required to dismantle and eat a lobster that has only been cooked. My wife enjoyed her vegetarian starter and main. We did not have dessert. Our bottle of white wine could have done with being a bit colder. It was understandably busy, as it deserved to be. Friendly and efficient staff. Sensible prices given the premium location.Recommended.

"tapas Is A Way Of Life" Small Mouthfuls Of Something Savoury To Share Over A Glass Of Wine With Great Conversation
We ate here one evening while having a week in Paignton, having discovered the attached pub (see separate review). Had a pretty good selection of tapas-style dishes (6 plus olives between us). Mostly Good but wedges with warm salsa over the top is not a proper patatas bravas! Otherwise decent enough and sensible prices. Friendly staff but service slightly slow; it was busy. As long as you are not expecting full authentic Spanish tapas (to be fair I think they describe it as tapas-styles, i.e. lots of small dishes) then you could do far worse in Paignton.Hello Anton, Thank you for taking the time for your good review. Our Patatas bravas is diced potatoes deep fried until crisp and golden with our homemade salsa and tomato sauce poured over the top. We describe ourselves as a tapas style eatery, so we have a more Mediterranean feel to the restaurant. We are glad you enjoyed the rest of your visit. kind regards.
