Restaurant was packed with locals. Generous portions. We had the combination plates (eggs, lomo, potatoes) that ran about 9 euros each. There was also a menu for 10 that included wine and bread. All in all, a good experience.

Very pleasant servers but ultimately poor-average food made for a disappointing dinner experience at Iturritxo. We asked to be seated outside and were given a table almost immediately. We opted to select from the Menu del Noche which at â¬15 per person represented great value for money for a starter, main and dessert with wine!My black pasta with seafood was very creamy and not terribly interesting. My friends both had the same battered and fried cheese & vegetable plates. They had the meatballs for main and I had the fish (cod). My cod was the only item which was good. The meatballs were awful. They were given a full bottle of red to share while I was presented with an enormous glass of white wine - a Rueda I think. For dessert, I had some vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce (both of which tasted synthetic) while the guys had a creme catalan (good), and a vanilla creme in a puff pastry sandwich.Service was very pleasant. However inexpensive our dinner might have been, this was not a good meal.

There is a large dining room with panoramic windows overlooking the valley. We were at a conference dinner for 150! For us there were too many courses but each one was prepared to perfection. Squash soup, Fois gras, a salad with a lobster claw, grilled shrimp, baked hake with tomato vinaigrette, beef tenderloin, dessert. One course at time. The fish was perfectly cooked and moist. The beef was rare and it was among the best tasting pieces of beef that I have ever eaten (although we were pretty full by then).

WOW. So simple , so fresh and so good. Even " simple" calamari a la plancha show the super freshness ( i'm a chef...) The short menu has enough to please any palet including children and vegetarian. The host and so sweet, I could write on and on about them. Absolutely dilightful place.Qualité prix imbattable.

Torre Zumeltzegi The hotel is located in the village of Onati, in the historical center, surrounded by a unique natural environment for its beauty. The building, a building of the late thirteenth century completely renovated, has 12 exquisitely decorated
Fabulous views (but you need to get there before the sun goes down....obviously) and very good food. We had two starters, a main and dessert, with a bottle of wine, water, bread and coffee and we were out the door for 58⬠(for 2 people) I recommend the foie gras and especially the artichokes. Oh my God the artichokes were fabulous. And the steak edged out the Iberian pork cheeks. I'd give the spider crab gratin a miss. It's also a hotel so go early for a drink outside and soak up the view before the sun goes down....the restaurant doesn't open till 9pm
