Mountshannon (Irish: Baile Uí Bheoláin, meaning "townland of Ó Beoláin", historically anglicised as Ballybolan) is a village in east County Clare, Ireland, and a Catholic parish by the same name. The village is on the western shore of Lough Derg, north of Killaloe. Mountshannon won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 1981.

Myself and my partner went here for dinner on Valentine's weekend, we had a, 8;45 reservation and when we arrived the restaurant was quiet busy, we were shown to our seats straight away by a friendly member of staff, complimentary bread and a small souo were served, for starters i had a king prawn and scallop florentine and my wife had the goats cheese bon bons, both were delicious. For mains i had the cod and my wife had the rack of lamb also delicious we finished off with cheesecake and a brulee, top class food and staff, worth the travel

Everywhere else is packed with tourists... this place is packed with locals! We ate in the obvious (and more expensive) tourist traps, but we had the best food here! Good, straight forward Italian cuisine (I had a divine seafood linguine), well priced wine list, intelligent service. 'Nuff said.

My second visit to sligoThis time sans children...We had a great experience here for lunch previously with our children, we thought we z.We had an antipasto classico to start... My word... Biggest portion of antipasto I've ever had!! Great selection of Italian cheese and cured meats along with breads, veg and frittatiI had the special, tricolor of pasta with Italian sausage and ricotta ... It was delicious!My wife had a pizzaWashed down with some Nero d'avolaBest Italian we have had outside of Italy... The staff are predominantly Italian and the ingredients are mostly Italian...

This restaurant is located in an old church so the atmosphere is very charming. Our lasagna, salad, and mini garlic rolls were delicious. The lasagna was some of the best weâve had in Ireland. The service was good and we would definitely eat here again if in the area.
