We walked from Carcassonne marina (1.5 miles) to this restaurant which is in an unlikely and unattractive setting. But, on entering the garden and meeting the staff were immediately enchanted with it. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious, we had lamb and mixed fish dishes, followed by cheese selection and then a sweet. The house red and white wines were both pleasant. When the temperature dropped slightly the staff were generous with blankets for any who needed them and our overall experience was wonderful.All at a surprisingly low price.Highly recommended!

My pizza expert of a wife, who is eating for two, went to this restaurant last night for dinner after reading the reviews here on trip advisor. Firstly the restaurant is much nicer than would first appear, with a lovely outdoor space round back! The staff are very friendly and helpful as our French is probably at a beginner level. The pizzas themselves were fantastic and unique! Although I felt mine was a bit confused with too many ingredients! Never the less it was delicious. My wife had a margarita which she couldnât finish and has the rest for lunch today (yes I am jealous). We also shared a side salad which was delicious! However, the dessert stole the show! We managed to find some space for the panna cotta, with a mango sauce and crunchy chocolate it was fantastic! We would certainly go back and recommend, I would say it narrowly misses out on a fifth star, as I do think there are slightly better pizzas out there still! But this is coming from a couple who spent two weeks travelling around Italy eating pizza! Please go visit I promise you wonât be disappointed!

We stopped by on our canal adventure for coffee and a break. We enjoyed every moment of our encounter with Meg and Dave and their exciting enterprise. They deserve all the accolades they receive. Their service is outstanding, venue charming and coffee superb. We wished we could have stayed for an evening meal. We found their home and the art gallery very lovely. The paintings are beautiful. The ones featuring the loss of trees on the canal very moving.

We were delighted to find that our favourite restaurant was open on NYE so we booked four months before to ensure we had a table. From the first sip of our cocktail to the last sip of champagne at midnight, the evening was truly first class. With one set menu for the special evening, we opted for the paired wines - a great choice. The menu as always was inventive, perfectly executed by Fabien & his brigade in the kitchen and the front of house service professional, courteous and engaging, overseen by wife Priscilla. La Bergerie is a rare find. In our eight visits in two years; ultimately it is the consistency that counts from quieter lunch time services in the middle of winter to intruducing overseas friends to this dining delight in the height of summer. We continue to recommend to all those in search of fantastic quality food & service when visiting this wonderful part of France.

We visited the Apostrophe for dinner and drinks one night. It clearly a little early in the summer season and they not ready for guests yet. The buildings need a good clean up as do the grounds. But it is such a beautiful place and our meals were great. with a lovely host Frank. When in full flight it could be amazing. There is accommodation available.

The restaurant is located centrally in Montolieu in a square next to the church. A great location to eat outdoors (although a falcon swooping down to steal one of the starlings in the tree above was rather startling!). The food was simplicity itself - and in a really good way. Beautifully cooked with obviously good quality ingredients. Very helpful and friendly staff. And reasonable prices too.
