Since changing hands I have only been to this restaurant once when I asked the waitress to bring me any other jam but strawberry, which she did. This morning another visit and a huge smile from said waitress who remembered us although I admit I didn't remember her that was until she proudly brought me 2 apricot jams with my scones. Bear in mind that first visit had been end August and I am just SO impressed with her memory and attention to my needs. Good reason to return again and next time with not such a long break in between.

We always try to get to Pigalle when in Cape Town and this year's visit was wonderful. The seafood is the calling card and it did not disappoint. I had the Pigalle platter which is prawns and langoustines, both of which were really tasty. Two of my colleagues shared the seafood platter for 2 and enjoyed every bit of it. The third colleague had the calamari which was also quite good. They all had the malva pudding for dessert and said it was the best they had ever had. One of my colleagues was celebrating her birthday so they wrote "Happy birthday!!" on her dessert plate and had a candle for her to blow out. It was all perfect. We also really enjoyed the live music.One note of advice, I would not recommend walking from your hotel despite it being a short distance as it is off an alleyway in a business district where most of the buildings are closed after dark.

Hi Thando at La Parada. We had a wonderful introduction to Cape Town on our first day eating in La Parada on the Waterfront in Cape Town one lunchtime. The food here is first class, the lady serving us was called Thando and was so helpful and gave us lots of information on the city and places to visit. We sat and watched the seals playing in the water in the bay. I am very skeptical when it comes to Portuguese food. When you are in Lisbon you are totally spoiled when it comes to food and nothing compares. So when I came to this restaurant I came with the expectation of being disappointed. Far from it. I cannot wait to go back. The prawns, the meat, the desserts were a perfect representation of Portuguese food. Freshness with a perfect blend of spices, served with passion and love.

I would have given the restaurant 5 based on the service which was friendly, informative and efficient. The food we had was OK but for me nothing special. The starters were better than the mains especially the salad and the calamari which was lovely. However my fish was rather dry and the spinach was also overlooked. Would definitely give it another try because of the nice ambience.

Really fin night out with great entertainment by the signing waiters. The food is great too, we had the bread plate (excellent romanesco dip) and meat plate (great fillet). I would recommend this for a group night out - birthdays, celebrations etc. Sing along, dance on the tables, drink too much, go have some fun!

Not just a lucky one-off; Unwined has provided us with multiple take-away quality pizzas which our family would rather get here than anywhere else. Only competitor is van Lovren way out in the Robertson Wine Valley.So, check out their wonderfuness. A serious cut way above average; unusual topping combos without being pretentious. Usually a 'special'; plus I think you can get half & half when you can't decide. Kids love the chicken; son loves the one with strawberries,; I stick with 'Rock & Roller' - just add Blue cheese = Friday night heaven. Just 5-10 mins from us so we never bother eating there. Pretty fast, efficient - never had a wrong order yet...! Great vibe, though the benches wouldn't suit my back.
