We found this true gem by mere chance driving by on our way back to Milan from Gravellona Toce. You can eat inside or (if spring, summer or early autumn) outside. You don't get a menu although there is a chalk written blackboard you can refer to inside. The server will tell you what is available and what it is made of.They asked if anyone had celiac or allergy issues which doesn't happen every day.The food was great. Well prepared, excellent presentation neither too much nor too little. Starters, second course, desert were outstanding. As I was driving I had to limit my self to half a glass of wine. That little I had was as good as the meal. We'd go there more often if it was closer.

What a magical setting looking straight down on the swans paddling Lake Maggiore, and the local church tower of the village of Feriolo di Baveno. Seafood Ravioli, Cesar salad with chicken were delicious. We purposely saved room for dessert, a bigne (cream puff) topped with blackberry coulis, and a fine tiramisu. Prices were very reasonable (4 Euros for glass o house wine and our service was very attentive. (Since we )were there early by Italian standards (7:15) on a Tuesday night, there was no wait for a lakefront table. Waiters spoke some English.)

We waited like one hour to get 2 pizzas. After several claims, we finally got our pizzas which were really average and did not contain all described ingredients...Avoid this place.

Dear Guests, the starting idea of this restaurant embodies one of the themes from the popular movie Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet in 2001, that is to keep a curious eye on the world and take pleasure in the sim
This is a delightful, small (~8 tables) restaurant that is well off the beaten track, but well worth the trek. Glorious food, attentive, efficient, multi-lingual and friendly service. The chef takes pride in periodically coming front-of-house to greet the diners. If you are fastidious or constrained in what you eat then I suggest you check the menu before entering, as it is very limited. Happily, my wife and I are unpretentious and are adventurous when it comes to tasty, well prepared and presented food. We had no problems meeting our desires from the menu (including veal tartare, seafood ravioli, monkfish, tuna, cheesecake, panna-cotta).We were happy to pay ~170â¬; for a starter, a first course, two mains and two deserts, washed down with a bottle of reasonably priced champagne. There is a 5⬠p.p. cover charge, but you do get a bread basket that is varied, âmore-ishâ and abundant. If it is within your budget, DO NOT pass this charming restaurant by.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here with our Italian friends. Our friend is an award winning Italian chef and he chose this restaurant as its one of his favorites. The menu is varied with a lots of choices, all excellent. It is easy to get to by bus or car as its right on a main road but certainly not noisy. To star I had a bean and pasta soup and then the home made canneloni which were both wonderful. To finish I had an apple tart with ice cream which was absolutely melt in your mouth. Would definitely put this establishment on our regular visit list!

We went for a wedding at lunch. Beautiful sorroundings with the pristine waters of the lake and a little village view. The food was very good. Appetizers with a good choice of cheese and ham delicacies and fried vegetables. Risotto done in an enourmous pan was delicious and the fassona meat incredible. Also the millefoglie dessert with raspberries was excellent. Great food in a wonderful secluded location.

This is a very casual place for a drink or dinner. They offer a nice wine list and a very good priced dinner as well. There are tables to sit outside and enjoy the "piazza" and lake view and a very cute indoor dining area that I am sure they will use a lot this winter when the weather changes. Very friendly staff and service is very nice.A great place to stop and take a break on a lake that not packed and visit with the locals who live on Mergozzo.

Went there on a Friday night, rather late (9:30 pm) on a hunch and discovered an empty table outside,no sign that said "riservato".Sat down on the empty (no cutlery etc) but dirty table.Sat there for good 10 Minutes before the waiter decided to notice us while waiting on another table.Waited, waited, waited and after 10 further minutes the waiter decided to grace us with his attention. He asked us (barely comprehensible) if we had reservations. We told him,we didn't and he told us that the Restaurant is completely booked! What the heck? There where several empty tables and no sign of any reservation! And completely booked at 9:30?Why did he need 20 Minutes to tell us this?Honestly,we didn't feel welcomed and walked away-and we won't be back, that's for sure!

Local substance where you can find a genuine and caring cuisine for the raw materials and with a family service and attentive, but without unnecessary frills. The local motto is sufficient substance.
Over our 10-day stay in the Mergozzo area we came back to this restaurant 3 times, which says a lot! Carlo, the owner/manager, is wonderfully Italian in his hospitality and approach - will make you feel comfortable and at ease. Food is served with some fantasy and is very good too, sprinkled, naturally, with some local wine, chosen be the chef himself :) Not to miss if you are dining in Mergozzo!Asia_Be Dear, Thank you for your review, your opinion is very important to us! We thank you for the compliments, for us it was a real pleasure to meet you and we are pleased to know that we helped you to spend a nice holiday in Italy. We hope to see again soon.Roberta, Carlo & Moscato

We came here for dinner because we read the menu out front, and the food was even better than it sounded. We started with the Antipasto di mare della Pagul, and it was all incredibly delicious... but the way the local trout was prepared made it unforgettable. My wife had the Spaghettini all' astice (incredibly delicious) and I had the Costata di Angus alla sau (wonderfully prepared), so we had a dilemma on which wine to choose. The owner, an extremely friendly and wonderful person, recommended a Lacrima Di Morro D'Alba as a neutral way out of our predicament, and she was absolutely right! We can't wait to go back to Mergozzo, and this will definitely be a regular place to eat each time we do.
