The Sava and Sora rivers join in Medvode, from which the town's name (which means 'between the waters') is derived. Two large factories, Color and Donit, are based in Medvode. The Sava River at Medvode is also the location of the Medvode Hydroelectric Power Plant. After the Second World War, a Yugoslav labor camp for political prisoners operated in Medvode.

Last night in Ljubliana and this gorgeous restaurant in the Old Quarter did not disappoint. Superbly smooth service, excellent food, & local wines. Our waiter was happy to guide us on both food & wine matches. We enjoyed the duck confit & risotto with sea bass & fennel, but it was hard to choose, many beautiful dishes. Always busy, its a good idea to book. Lovely selection

That made us wonder how clean the kitchen is. The service was not great. The food was ok. I had the sausage and I enjoyed it. However when you receive anything that you are unsatisfied with you MUST inform our staff so we can fix the situation immediately. Booking for lunch is a good idea - while we were there several spec arrivals were turned away. Nice clean, white interior with space for maybe 15 -20 covers.Friendly service of a daily fresh menu. The penne with white fish and truffle oil was abundant and delicious. A local beer of just 2.5«v was a suitable accompaniment.The daily dessert of homemade lemon cheesecake was light and fresh. A final coffee brought the bill to a little over â¬20. Great value.

Spring is here and Odprta kuhna is coming back to PogaÄarjev trg. We expect more interesting food for each taste. It will come from all sides of the world. Opening is dedicated to food from Slovenia. Križanke Summer festival was reserved for all hungry and thirsty visitors. Good start but can be improved.

Atmosphere is cosy, menu is quite extensive so you can find anything you like. They have vegetarian options too. I ate a salad with oyster mushrooms and vegetarian pizza - both were delicious. Friendly staff, good for a family meal. Modern design, very nice interior, knowledgeable and high class waiting staff and very good food are main characteristics of this restaurant. Only down side is its location, away from city center, so use of taxi is recommended (unless you have a car at disposal). During the rush hour you can get stuck in a traffic jam. But since Ljubljana is a small town, this could take you away some 15-20 minutes, no more. Once you are in the restaurant, I am positively sure you will love it. Cuisine is on the modern side and very tasty. I had a fish and it was very nice.

special place above the gorge of the river, by a bridge - at the entrance to the old town of Å kofja Loka, exceptionally cozy place, sat outside just to sample something small from their menu and enjoy observing the evening promenaders passing by. Had a ken sum (or something like that), and an ale from a local (Loo-blah-nah) brewery - a perfect dinner. Will definitelly return to try more from the menu ;)

This place is located outside Ljubljana's ring but trip there is worth it. They serve good food, mainly Italian dishes are great. Interior is nice with nice terrace as well. Same owner has many venues in Ljubljana, like fine-dining place Strelec inside castle

If you did not have the chance to visit Serbia and teir food traditional culture, this is one of the best places to try and experience. Near the lake. Mainly meat dishes. No Slovenian traditional food is served here.
